Customer experiences
A spring broke. Since the GDO was originally installed by Overhead Door of Paducah by a previous owner I contacted them. All was great. Talked to David and he made sure Chase came out they very next day. On the call with David he insisted that both springs and pulleys be replaced. That sounded like a fantastic plan to me and I neglected to get a quote after giving him all the details about the door. So when Chase showed up with two new springs and pulleys I asked him what the quote would be roughly and he gave me a number that was very fair. So I went back inside and let him work without being a helicopter about it. MY MISTAKE. He came to the door to let me know what the actual price was and I wrote a check. I didn't think much about it until Monday when the garage was empty and I noticed a wide gap in the side of where the spring had broke. So I inspected it and that is when I noticed that the way the cable connected to the bottom of the door had changed out and the S hook was no longer there but the other side it was still there. So I checked the rest of it and the spring on the other side was dusty and had paint on it from when I painted the garage years ago. So I called back right away and David sent out another tech that didn't have any parts and told me that they were out of stock on the springs for the 7 foot doors. Fast forward a few hours and David calls me back and schedules Chase back out for Tuesday morning to finish the job. And he came and I noticed he was not very happy being here so I went back inside after offering him a tea (that he accepted) and the next thing I notice is he had left without any further word to me at all. So I went out and not only did he not install a new pulley on the side of the spring he JUST replaced but he had REMOVED the pulley from the other side and put the old one (I assume it was still on his truck) back on! At least the door works again and there is no snake sized gap under half of it. The intention was to have them come back tis summer and replace everything door and all but due to the way this was handled I just don't see them getting the business. I am grateful that the door is usable but I paid for two springs, new pulleys (their recommedation) and the labor pus it wasted my time going back and forth uneccesarily.
We had a garage door "emergency" and didn't know who to contact. We called Overhead Door by chance and within 2 hours they had the job done!! The two service men were very professional and personable and the cost was unbelievably fair!!
Refused to come out and give a quote to fix a crack in the top panel of the garage door. The guy said since I was needing the quote for a real estate negotiation he didn’t see any “sale” in it for him and he wouldn’t do it. Apparently potential future business didn’t enter his mind.
Our garage door new installation make my door looks like new.
