Petersburg Hardware

It's close to home for me, and the prices are fair enough that I go here for any of my small-medium projects. (Stupid, simple joy - free popcorn. I've always loved hardware stores with the free popcorn, & it's reminiscent of my childhood 25-30 years going to hardware stores ago with my dad.) The service is definitely good. I've gotten help figuring out the best way to build/fix some pretty obscure things and/or in unique ways. There are always at least a couple employees that know more than me, so that's all I really need. Good selection of some less common hardware (fasteners, very specific clips for doors/windows), any pipe/hose fitting in any size you'd need. I'm no pro, but I've pretty much never had trouble finding any of the weirdest, most random stuff as long as it's legit hardware. Prices - they're decent for most smaller stuff. Honestly, if I'm going to be doing a bigger project, I could probably save $30-40 off a $200 shopping list; $0.70 extra doesn't matter to me unless I'm buying 40. They're not really very much more on a lot of stuff, but if you're buying hundreds, naturally you're going to price check. I've found stuff that's CHEAPER here than other places, so it's not fair to make a blanket statement about "all prices" being high or low. I love the store, and I think I've been fair and unbiased.

This store has a good variety of items for a relatively small store compared to all the big box stores. You will likely be able to find what you are looking for here and they also have a pretty great selection of Milwaukee tools and accessories to choose from. The staff was also very friendly to customers and eager to help them find what they were looking for.
