We engaged Powerhouse for digital marketing services across NZ and AU markets. Unfortunately, our experience has been disappointing and we feel misled in several areas. After pausing our Australian campaigns in early 2025, Powerhouse continued to bill us for AU services. We later discovered they had internally reallocated our contracted hours to unapproved “strategy work” without consulting or informing us — despite the contract clearly stating that new or additional work must be formally proposed and approved in writing. When we raised concerns, we were told it was our responsibility to formally terminate services (which had never been clearly communicated as required) — while Powerhouse simultaneously failed to follow their own processes, including internal communication breakdowns and no cost minimisation during the service pause. To date, no refund has been offered for months of AU services already paid for but not delivered. While they have agreed not to charge us going forward, the approach has been selective, unaccountable, and not in line with what we would expect from a professional agency. We’ve lost trust in the service and would caution other businesses to read contracts carefully and monitor billing closely. We cannot recommend Powerhouse based on our experience.
