Customer experiences
Went here for a birthday dinner. Food was good. Well portioned. I order Curry Goat. The meat was good & tasty; but very fatty, there were equal amounts fatty pieces and meat. (Slightly disappointing) The Roti was just okay, it seemed like it was premade then warmed up; it had hard edges and as it cooled down it became tough and no longer soft and easily “rip-able”. Staff were kind, restaurant atmosphere was nice. Would return to try other menu items.
Came in on Thursday Nov 27th around 6 pm in the evening to watch the football game have a drink and some food. Ordered the Bassa Fish appetizer which was delicious. This is where the positives end. Asked for a couple of slices of lemon for the appetizer and the server tells me that they have just enough lemons at the bar for people when they order a water. Had to beg for a slice of lemon which was reluctantly passed over. So let me get this straight, I order a beer and an appetizer and am spending money but they would rather save the lemons for people when they oder free water. Lol. Then when you need another beer there is no service around. The bartender was on a FaceTime with boyfriend instead, for a few minutes. Have to wave said bartender over after waiting patiently for a while only to be met with rolling eyes. Peculiar.
Subject: Urgent: Allergy-related incident and request for resolution Dear Anthony I am writing to bring to your attention a serious incident that occurred at your restaurant on January 9/26 at roughly 6pm, which directly impacted my health and safety. Briefly, I have a documented seafood allergy. I informed my server that I am allergic to seafood and requested that the vegetable spring rolls be prepared without shrimp. Despite this, the dish was served with shrimp. I immediately reacted with hives and required Benadryl from a nearby pharmacy. The restaurant subsequently removed the item from the bill and offered water, but this did not address the risk or the harm I experienced. This experience is not acceptable for several reasons: Allergy information was not properly communicated to the kitchen. The staff member’s remark, “I’m OCD,” was inappropriate and dismissive of a serious health concern. The resulting exposure led to a painful allergic reaction and disrupted my weekend. I am hopeful we can resolve this promptly and constructively.
A couple of us foodie friends gathered here for a weekend lunch. We shared a variety of dishes from both their main menu and the new pub menu. 🌟 Hibiscus Mojito, Hibiscus Punch, Strawberry Daiquiri 🌟 Hibiscus Spicy Wings 🌟 Special Chicken Lo Mein 🌟 Pepper Shrimp - Spicy 🌟 Beef Short Ribs - Honey Garlic 🌟 Schezuan Tofu 🌟 Beef Nachos 🌟 Jerk Quesadilla 🌟 Jerk Poutine 🌟 Greek Salad 🌟 Mushroom Madness 🌟 Loaded Chicken Crunch i love the mix of Caribbean, Guyanese and fusion dishes. The jerk Poutine and jerk quesadillas were delicious. The quesadilla was stuffed with chicken. The nachos were loaded with toppings and we inhaled that dish first. I have zero complains about everything we tried and I can't wait to try some of their other menu options!
