I hired Pitblado to assist with a complex insurance claim, and the experience was nothing short of a disaster. From the outset, the firm demonstrated a lack of urgency and expertise. Important documentation was mishandled, deadlines were missed, and the attorneys seemed unfamiliar with the basic aspects of insurance law. What was especially frustrating was the lack of communication. I had to chase them down for updates, and when I did get a response, it was either dismissive or completely uninformed. At one point, they submitted incorrect paperwork to the insurer, which caused serious delays—and instead of taking responsibility, they tried to shift the blame onto me. Their negligence not only cost me time and money but also jeopardized the entire outcome of my claim. I expected legal representation that would advocate for my interests; instead, I felt abandoned and misled. I would not recommend this firm to anyone dealing with an insurance matter. If you need a lawyer who is competent, responsive, and actually understands the stakes involved, look elsewhere. Also after a year and thousand of dollars in lawyers fees Pitblado sent me a letter saying that they would no longer be able to help me . I was forced to hire a new law firm and took them less one week to resolve the matter .

I engaged the firm for a case that just concluded in Winnipeg, Canada on Thursday 22nd March 2018. Right from the very first day I stepped my foot in their office, I noticed the wonderful manner in which I was treated. My case was handled very professionally and I am quite impressed. Michael Kay- my experience. 2 months to do a simple private one year mortgage, only $320k, everyone else takes 2 weeks. Then the trust company told me at 5 weeks in Michael Kay never sent appraisal to them. I had to do Michael Kay's job for him and send it in. Then after that and another 3 weeks later they finished and charged me $5800! Yes $5800 for a simple one year mortgage, the going rate is $1600 across Canada for this. Even the trust company managing the mortgage told me they had never heard of such a rate, ever. And they do hundreds of these mortgages. I took it to the law society, they felt arbitration was reasonable, but Mr Kay cowardly refused arbitration and now this is going to court. Mr Kay fearing loosing a lawsuit brought by me then threatened my home and business and this can be verified with the Law Society on Michael Kay's professional complaints history. Michael Kay was the lawyer from Pitblado. So I waited 4X longer and paid 4X as much for incompetent service. Michael Kay is actually a partner at Pitblado.
