Customer experiences
All hype. I bought a used coach purse and 4 tops for 100 dollars which is a great deal but that’s because I shopped the 90% off rack. The whole store should be 90% off because it is genuinely a thrift store. There are some name brands but it is all very used and there is nothing as far as plus size clothing. It was an experience and I am happy with the help from one of the employees but there is an extremely rude employee there also who is just about as much hype as the store itself, with the same amount of miles as the thrifted Coach.
Went to sell a bag of my clothes, most worn once or twice and lots new with tags. “expensive brands” like lululemon, zara, and pacsun. for 15 items they wanted to take, they offered me 60 dollars. I was shocked as their website claims they pay 30-40% of retail value, so they offered me less than half of what my items were worth. when i asked to see how they priced it she said the new with tags leggings they would give me $7 for. So sad that this is what platos closet turned into. I took back my items and are going to sell them for more than the gas it took to drive to platos closet.
Idk just seems misleading what they post VS once you get to the store. Look at what they advertise vs what I paid. I assumed the whole store was 50-90% as advertised but when I went to check out it was 30% off. Much better labeling of discounts clearly marked on racks would help tremendously. But still wouldn’t you expect the whole store to be 50-90% off?
They don’t typically buy many items from you, even when it’s brand new items they have publicly requested. This feels like a trend across all Plato’s, though. And They will complain and huff if you bring in big bags. Today when checking out, the girls at the front desk seemed incredibly rude and genuinely uninterested in actually helping customers. Rolling their eyes at each other, commenting aloud about customers, sighing and huffing when asked for receipts or asked any questions. The gentleman who works there was incredible. However some of the other staff gave a “drama filled” vibe and I will not be returning due to the judgmental attitudes and lack of customer care.
Plato's Closet Reno is a used clothing store.
