My bad experience with my son appointment yesterday , my son, had a dental appointment at Glisan Office with Dr. Boydston. His appointment was scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Upon arriving at the office, we were greeted and escorted to the examination room by a nurse. After the nurse finished her part, a person came to the room. She looked upset and took a few moments to put on her gown and gloves. She introduced herself and asked me if I had any questions. I asked a few questions regarding the procedure and my expectations for the appointment. However, she still seemed so upset and her responses were limited. She didn’t want to explain or talk much at all and didn’t provide any assistance or address my concerns regarding My son situation. I permitted her to proceed with the procedure, but she instructed my son on how to communicate while applying the numbing medication. She told him to raise his hand if he felt uncomfortable. However, she prevented him from speaking and continued to instruct him to remain quiet and refrain from touching her. This approach didn’t seem to be effective in assisting my son in coping with the situation. When I requested a break for Matthew, she disregarded my request twice. When I asked about the medications she was administering, she failed to provide any answer. The nurse was nice and was trying to help us. Once again, she attempted to apply the injection, but my son expressed pain. She told him to remain quiet and breathe. I was concerned and reminded her that my son was raising his hand and required a moment to breathe, but she continued to ignore my request and hold his head down and continued. I didn’t like the dentist’s attitude and didn’t feel safe for my son to continue the procedure. Then I expressed my concern, but she ignored and stopped the procedure and left. We are so disappointed by what we experienced today. I was trying to understand that she might be tired or in a bad mood, but it seemed worse. We feel like we were mistreated because of our skin color by this dentist. She shouldn’t work with kids, and we request Kaiser Permanente to take the right action for this matter.

Amy went above and beyond in answering all of our questions about the costs for my Mom’s upcoming treatment. She was completely transparent about the fees, clearly explained which category the service fell under, and helped us understand where the out-of-pocket costs were coming from. She even took the time to review my Mom’s specific insurance plan and outlined possible options. “Phenomenal” doesn’t even begin to describe Amy’s thoroughness, patience, and professionalism. THANK YOU, Amy! Because of our conversation with you, we were able to take everything we learned and create a plan, including reimbursement with my Mom’s employer. Most importantly, thank you for easing my Mom’s worries. The confusion and stress she was feeling from her outstanding questions, had been taken a toll on her. You not only answered every question with detail, but you also created an unexpected resolution that brought her real peace of mind. You are VERY appreciated and thank you for all that you do!!!

The dental hygienist/nurse and doctor were both AMAZING. I get so nervous about going to the dentist but they quickly made me comfortable and not anxious. I had an urgent tooth extraction and they handled it quickly and did an incredible job. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience.
