Josh KAvoid this host. Our experience felt like a scam. We booked accommodation with Angelina through Booking.com and had one of the worst hosting experiences we have ever had while travelling. An hour after booking, we realised we had made a mistake with the dates and politely requested to move the reservation by one day. The host rejected the change, which was fair, so we accepted this and confirmed that we would still pay for the original dates and simply check in a day later. She never replied, but she also did not cancel the reservation, so we presumed this was acceptable. We kept her updated with our arrival times, but she continued to ignore all messages. When we finally arrived in Toronto, she told us that Booking.com had cancelled our booking and was withholding the money, but Booking.com later confirmed that this was NOT true and that the host would have already received our payment. Despite seeing our messages and knowing that we were arriving the following day, she marked us as a "no show", refused to let us check in, and was very standoffish when speaking to us in person. She offered no help in resolving the situation. We were left stranded in a new city at night searching for last-minute accommodation, while she kept all of our money. We also discovered that we are unable to leave a review on Booking.com, which means potential guests cannot be warned about this behaviour. If you value communication, honesty, basic decency and someone who understands how to use a platform like booking.com properly we strongly recommend avoiding this property. Our experience was stressful, unprofessional and felt deliberately misleading.
