Many handwoven sarees in Tamil Nadu now come from small villages around major cities. One of the most renowned saree shops is Pothys, a household name in South India. Established in 1935 in Srivilliputtur by K.V. Pothy Moopanar, it has grown into a massive store with 12 locations across the region. The Coimbatore branch is enormous, spanning multiple floors, with two floors dedicated entirely to silk and cotton sarees. Pothys offers an extensive collection, including pure silk, cotton, and blended varieties, supporting handloom weavers across India. For saree lovers, this is a must-visit shopping destination.
