This has potential to be a good 4/5. I think this is being updated as deco and a few bits are lovely,but a few details are missing. In the restaurant ,cutlery water marked ,tea pots stained, milk jug crusted with old milk, glasses look dirty but setting beautiful. Bedroom beautiful. Bathroom old still has shower curtain and a rubber bath mat. Food, evening meals limited but great value £14.95 for 3 course and not bad. Breakfast lovely cooked well produce good quality( scrambled eggs for me under cooked)sausage needs colouring all over ,fruit salad just tinned peaches there was cereal toast danishes yogurt fruit juice but for £9.95 great value. The hotel was extremely hot. Window open radiators turned down and 2 fans and still too hot. The eclectic loud music 60s 70s and 80s mixed being played at dinner made the experience less enjoyable.

We have just returned home from a weekend away at your hotel||We found the hotel quite tired and worn in places. ||The bedrooms could do with some updating. Our pocket sprung bed was extremely uncomfortable. Possibly had the worst 2 nights sleep anywhere in a long time. The springs would rebound whenever you get up. Very disturbing for the other person you’re in bed with. ||Also disappointed the changing rooms at the pool were completely out of action. This was not stated on booking or when we checked in. I was not impressed that I had to parade through the gym with swimwear and towel. Considering this I was very put out that I had to pay £4 to use the gym facilities! This should be free to guests especially when there is disruption in this area.|||On the plus side the staff were very helpful and friendly. The food was good for the price also. ||Overall it’s not somewhere I would rush back to unless they have a complete overall.

Excellent service, as always. Good gym facilities and pool. Changing rooms being refurbished but robes are provided instead. Beautiful room - I was upgraded to a suite on this particular stay. Great location, convenient to M3. I stay here regularly and it never disappoints. Also very good value for money.

Christmas party last night was amazing. The decorations were beautiful, lovely touch with a present for each guest, the personalized card with chosen menu were great, staff were so helpful and smiling, really got us in the party mood. Been to many events like this over the years and our expectations re food has been lowered due to catering for large groups, however not last night, the food was gorgeous, not only that, it was also hot, we all got served together, the right food and tasted great. Fantastic start to our Christmas celebrations... Amazing job, thank you to all at Basingstoke Country Hotel
