What a very professional and caring place to have Implant surgery. From the receptionists, their phone calls and caring manner in which they speak to you to the nurses who obviously understand their role and if you are nervous they are there to comfort. My surgeon Bill was just wonderful and explained everything in detail to me. He was careful to make sure I understood what he was doing at every step of the procedure. I really would recommend The Implant Centre in Hove.

I had visited 3 other surgeries before choosing the Implant centre and I'm very happy with the choice I made. They have a great team there and every aspect of my treatment, from the initial contact, consultation through to the surgery, was excellent. I'm very pleased with final result, it will make such a difference to me going forward.

My son’s dentist recommended to book an appointment with Hove Implant Centre for a 3D x-ray to gain information he couldn’t ascertain before further orthodontic treatment carried out. He sent a letter to Hove Implant Centre, requesting a CT scan. We were told this would be somewhere in the region of £220 but would be a good investment to possibly save on more expensive treatment in the future. Hove Implant Centre confirmed that it was a CT scan that was requested but booked my son for a ‘clinical assessment’. It was not made clear that the scan wouldn't be carried out at this appointment and would cost an additional £250. The confirmation email received when booking this consultation, stated a number of procedures that would be carried out but in fact didn’t happen. 'This appointment takes approximately 1 hour'. We went in after 4.00 pm and were out by 4.30 pm '. 'a full clinical examination, including standard x-rays' not carried out - (used the dentist's recent x-rays, which is understandable but then we should not have been charged by Hove Implant Centre for a procedure they did not carry out), tooth photography (not carried out – as my son wouldn’t be eligible for an implant for at least 2 years because of his age this was deemed unnecessary – why book him for this assessment then & charge for photography that wasn’t done?) and an oral cancer screen'. (this was also ‘not of a concern’ for the consultant because my son was only 16 & a non-smoker – again why book this type of assessment then?) This is actually what we received for £225: The consultant looked in my son’s mouth & confirmed good oral hygiene & good orthodontic work, (we already knew as we'd had both orthodontist & a dental appointment in the previous month.) He then looked at the x-rays from the dentist. (We found out nothing new as we'd already seen these x-rays & discussed them with our dentist). The consultant also mentioned the pros & cons of a bridge; (which we already knew from my son's orthodontist, his dentist & the fact that his older brother has had a bridge for the past 5 years.) Due to his age & the stage of his orthodontic treatment, the ‘clinical assessment’ was unsuitable & should not have been accepted as a booking; even though it was booked by us in good faith, anxious to follow the 'expert' advice given at the time. The Hove Implant Centre misread the instructions from my son's dentist, booked the incorrect type of appointment & then did not carry out the procedures as stated in a 'full clinical assessment.' (after taking £225 they deemed them unnecessary) We requested a refund from the centre but this has been refused. £225 is a lot of money to lose – so be warned DO NOT BOOK A CLINICAL ASSESSMENT WITH HOVE IMPLANT CENTRE UNLESS YOU ARE AT THE EXACT POINT OF WANTING AN IMPLANT – total waste of money & the centre know that when they happily took the booking. Hove Implants reply to this review demonstrates that they STILL don't understand my issue with their company. I wasn't 'very much wanting a CT scan for my son' It was what I was advised to do by my dentist and Hove Implants have stated in writing they knew this was the reason the appointment was booked. Hove Implants also stated in the written contract that they would carry out 3 specific examinations. The fact that Hove Implants then deemed these examinations unnecessary makes it even more incredible that they accepted the appointment. It is immoral for a company to make an expensive appointment with a client when they know from the provided information that the examination, as promised in the written contract will not be carried out IF THE PROCEDURES ARE UNNECESSARY THEN EITHER DON'T ACCEPT THE APPOINTMENT OR REFUND THE CLIENT FOR THE ITEMS NOT CARRIED OUT! Other clients also need to be aware that it is appalling but a customer of the dental profession is not able to make a complaint to the Ombudsman for breach of contract unless treatment is actually carried out.
