It is great experience. The Rock picking area is not very big but could hold lot of people. A lot of variety rock to pick and are quite pretty. Price is good. Only $2 per pound. I pick a big rock for $16, and half a bucket small rock for $30. It is cheap for 3 people having fun for hours and bring beautiful rocks home. They provide buckets for use inside, but you better keep a strong bucket in the car. After pay the rocks, you could transfer the rocks to your own bucket to bring them home.

It’s so much fun to explore the rock like blind boxes open. Better bring water and small brush to wash off the sand and dust, to find out the true beauty of rocks. IKEA hammer is not recommended to use.

My daughter is a rock collector and had alot of fun mining her rocks. She was very happy with what she brought home and found a couple things in the shop she liked as well. Rock pile was easy to get to just very short walk away from the shop. Definitely wear good footwear as it can be a little tricky walking through the big Rock pile as some of the rocks are not steady when you step on them.

Nice place to bring the kids to look for different types of rocks. We brought our own tools & safety glasses. The area was a decent size, we stayed for 3 hours. From reading the reviews some people were disappointed, for us the kids enjoyed it and I am happy we still went. Lots of items for sale in the shop.
