427najaWe originally used another vendor's linear actuator which they recommended for our hood opening mechanism. After spending hours doing the install it failed miserably. We then contacted Progressive Automations and were immediately assured their engineered Hall sensor actuators would do the job. Since installation the actuators, controller, remotes and rocker switch have worked flawlessly. They saved us countless hours of research and development. Their technical and sales personnel are great and respond immediately. We wouldn't think of using another manufacturer's product.
Steven PoretskinUnfortunately the service, sales and engineering department is not what it was in the past. You will not get a quick replacement even if out of the box damaged. Maybe this is new managment.
Rob EschI have ordered 8 replacement motors, PRT-14-100, for linear actuator PA-14P-6-35. All 8 have come with the wrong thread size. Actuator thread size is 3.5x0.60 metric and the replacement motors are 2.5x0.45 metric. I had to get them all machined (3 screws for mounting). One of the 8 motors came with cut wires, I hope there is enough wire left to be able to use it. I have used 2 of the replacement motors and noticed that the springs for the grounding brush doesn't appear to be the same type and quality as the motor that comes with the actuator. The motors usually fail once the brush wares down, but the replacement motor springs are weaker and are not able to apply enough force to keep the grounding brush pressed against the rotator and cause the motor to self destruct once the brush reaches half life (around 100,00 cycles). The springs are smaller. The actuator its self is a good product and I would recommend it for applications of 100, 000 cycles or less but the replacement motors are not compatible and not the same quality. Unless you are comfortable with drilling and tapping new holes you will not be able to use it.
