I booked a 9:30 am appointment time and paid for the work online 2 days prior to the appointment. 30 minutes after dropping my car off I received a phone call to say the tyres for my car wouldn’t be at the auto centre until that afternoon, no apology was given and the reasons given to me were un acceptable. I had to take public transport to go home to wait for them to call when the tyres had been fitted. The manager called me early afternoon to say the work had been done and he was very apologetic, he explained that the tyres hadn’t arrived the day before, but nobody checked. I can’t fault the work or products and my rating would have been higher but for them not having the tyres available.

Promised another older customer who doesn’t have social media that I would leave a review on his behalf as he was so impressed. The lads completed the work very quickly, with ease and charged very little. Much better than the last place he went. He said Halfords are always very good, charge fairly and don’t try to get extra work from you. They also did my MOT quickly and all staff were friendly and professional. Thank you!

I wouldn’t give 1 star if I could, a shocking experience at Halfords Autocentre Newark. My fiancée’s car needed a coil pack and spark plugs, and they had the nerve to quote her £800. When she questioned it, they doubled down and insisted that was the price—no explanation, just an outrageous attempt to overcharge. Thankfully, we decided to phone around other garages and quickly found somewhere that did the job properly for just £230. Halfords’ quote wasn’t just excessive; it was a blatant attempt to rip her off. It’s appalling that they think they can get away with exploiting people like this. Their behaviour is unethical and predatory. Avoid this place at all costs.
