I’ve only stayed here twice but I have had such good experiences both times I had to write a quick review. In far out suburban hotel bar/restaurants, I always get whatever the server recommends and it seldom steers me wrong. The key to success for these places is to offer a limited menu but push what you do really well. Last time I got their fish & chips - Atlantic Cod and sweet potato fries. It was fantastic; three huge pieces of very fresh fish, not greasy, not overcooked - just a really perfect deep fry and very crispy sweet potato fries. Definitely among the best fish & chips I’ve had at a hotel restaurant. The second time here I got the pork chop with mixed vegetables and a side salad. I don’t know how it could have been better. The pork was delicious and grilled to perfection, well-seasoned, and the veggies were a little crunchy inside with big flavor. I really appreciate it when chefs don’t just phone in the sides. The sides are critical elements of a meal like this. Knowing what you can really excel at is key and this chef nailed it. I can’t close without mentioning the server who had a full bar but still made me feel like I was his only customer.

There was nothing on the website that said you had to be 21 To book I didn’t realize that in the lady in the front was rude. She had my ID in her Hand and then asked if I was 21 she couldn’t just look our room smelt gross went up just to let her know was not complaining. She was snippy and said I can put something in your room, but you have to leave for two hours or I can come spray with Febreze and our Beds were wet. The sheets were not just cold. They were wet, sat down in our butt got wet.

Got there before check in time and an amazing super goddess named Hannah was able to work her magic and find us a room. She was the highlight of our stay there and I wish every place had a person like her who is kind and helpful. Rooms were fine but it was the customer service that was top notch.

Honestly was here for a celebration of life for my papa last year and stayed again this year. I 100% prefer them over the Hilton Suites in Des Moines. If you ever get a chance to compare, Do It! Hilton Suites is supposedly supposed to have more space, extra amenities, and the ability to prepare meals during extended stays -- I call bullshit -- Hilton Suites actually is moe in the category of a 1-2 star hotel, yeah you got space but microwave? (No) stove? (No) extra amenities they state are actually a gym and pool which are only open during day hours. Whereas the Hilton Garden has extra space, a beautiful entryway, a nice indoor pool (they actually clean their pool), a couple of conference rooms, and they are located right next to Smash Park, which if you haven't been to you need to check out! (Bar/grill with games for everyone) definitely recommend staying here over Hilton Suites.
