Worst contractor in the whole GTA, I would never recommend him to anyone. If there is 0 star option I would rate him with zero. I have got a legal basement permit from the city through an Engineering firm and assigned Vijay Saini to complete my basement. When I looked at his company website, I thought his company is a big company. It is completely false and misleading. He doesn’t have any permanent employees, he has one employee who has been working for him just more than 1 year and 1 part time employee. Vijay doesn’t work but signs up as many contracts as he could. He does most of the work by hiring many other subcontractors. So during the renovation phase he would call many subcontractors to get a quote/estimate for each part of the renovation process (e.g. Plumbing, Dry walling, Mudding and Taping, Electrical, Painting etc.). Then he would pick up the cheapest subcontractor. He doesn’t have any work ethic at all, his workmanship has lots of defects. He promised to complete my basement renovation in 8 to 9 weeks but even after 12 weeks he didn’t complete my basement and at the end he left without finishing my basement renovation (30% work left unfinished) and he took more money from me than the product and services he delivered to me. He took 5 weeks to do wood framing for one small washroom, one small bedroom and bulkhead for my basement. Any other contractor would finish a similar kind of work in just 4 to 5 days. Because he would send his guys to work 1 or 1.5 days per week. My basement framing from floor to ceiling including full wall insulation was done by the builder. My basement Kitchen bulkhead is U-shape, I told him to make all sides equal, but he failed to do so. One side he made was 18 inches, another side 14 inches and the other side was 22 inches. His guys damaged my custom made Stairs while framing, this is due to lack of experience and lack of skilled trades. Washroom ceiling tiles fell off on the floor after his guys installed it, fortunately no one got injured, tiles came off because he supplied cheap cement. He never let his guy do the cleaning after work, he left my family members in hell of construction dust and debris for many many weeks (I shared some images here). Some sub-contractors refused to work in my basement when they saw it wasn’t suitable to work as my basement was filled up with lots of garbage and construction debris all over the floor. During the renovation process Inspection failed multiple times by the City Inspector, it is all because he would try to cut the corner and take a short cut route. He doesn’t keep his promise. He is supposed to do following in my basement before Drywall gets installed and he failed to do so:- 1. Water separation for the basement unit. 2. Fire sprinkler in the furnace room. 3. An in-built electric fireplace. 4. Ceiling Speakers wiring. 5. Power outlet in the kitchen center Island. Even though he took money for all of the above, he didn’t deliver as he promised. He is not trustworthy at all. He lies every now and then. The very first day he ordered some framing woods 2X4 from HomeDepot and home depot delivered to my house. He told me it cost him $4K. After 3 weeks, when I realised that he doesn’t look reliable then I went to HomeDepot and pulled Invoice and it was only for $1.1K and I didn’t disclose this to him. After 5.5 weeks, he ordered Drywall from HomeDepot and Home Depot delivered it to my house and he told me it cost him $5K and I did the same thing. I went to Home Depot and pulled Invoice, it was around $3K. He would always demand more money upfront from me before delivering products and services to me during the renovation phase. I made a mistake by handing him more money than the product and services he delivered. In the end, I wish this kind of contractor isn’t be allowed to run a renovation business in Ontario.

We had our 2 washrooms completely renovated, all carpeting including stairs changed to hardwood and the laundry room re-tiled and updated to include new cabinets and sink. Vijay was very responsive, understood our needs and ensured all our requirements were met. The crew on the project were easy to deal with and left the site tidy. The entire project was on time and within budget. We are very happy with the way the house looks and would definitely go back to Fairtrade Builders for future renovations. We would absolutely recommend this Company to anyone needing a home Reno.

The best construction guy in the area. He is an honest and genuine guy who gives judicious advise. I am happy with the work he has done at my home, that too at an economical price.
