I strongly urge anyone considering Aztec Contractors to proceed with extreme caution. My experience with Reynaldo, the owner, revealed a serious ethical breach that no client should have to endure. This situation arose after a policyholder submitted a property insurance claim and was already underpaid by the insurance company. Rather than helping the policyholder recover fully and fairly, Reynaldo entered into a highly questionable agreement with a law firm. The “Optional Expert Consultant Rider” they used locked clients into using Aztec Contractors for repair work—regardless of whether better or more affordable options were available. Additionally, the policyholder lost their right to choose another contractor later, even if they found someone else willing to do the work for less. To make matters worse, this agreement allowed the law firm to act with power of attorney, ensuring that settlement checks were issued directly to Aztec Contractors. This arrangement blatantly prioritized the financial gain of Reynaldo’s business and the law firm over the best interests of the policyholder. I was under contract with Reynaldo for estimate services when I discovered this unethical scheme. I was outraged and immediately terminated my agreement with him. This entire situation felt like an exploitation of policyholders who were already underpaid and vulnerable after filing their claims. Transparency, ethics, and integrity should be the cornerstone of any contractor-client relationship, especially when dealing with insurance claims. Unfortunately, Aztec Contractors failed miserably on all fronts. I cannot recommend this company to anyone seeking fair and honest service.
