Irne, Angie and the team at Retro Construction have been amazing to deal with. They helped us with our living room extension with a wrap around deck from start to finish. From the architectural designs, to consent, the build and following up on our code of compliance once the job was completed. Irne was patient with us through the whole process and able to suggest ideas on how we could improve what we already had in mind. He was able to accommodate with our living situation with a newborn baby and he made sure that our living space was not disrupted till absolutely necessary, which was a great help to us as we could carry on with our lives as normal. They kept us well informed with everything that was happening and what was due to happen in the next following days/week so there were no surprises. We had a strict budget and they made sure that everything was accounted for and there was no big surprises at the end. Overall highly recommended, excellent communication, friendly and genuine team to deal with. Definitely will be using them for all future construction work.

To find a contractor willing to assist with a small repair, is not very easy. Most builders want the big paying contracts, but Nesuto Newhaven is a Property Management company responsible for the caretaking of 176 apartments in East Tamaki. The complex is now 20+ years old, and we are experiencing ongoing repairs required. We were very happy to find Retro Construction willing to step up and assist us with the small jobs that crop up from time to time. Although small in their eyes, any repair in our eyes is important as we have investors to report to. Trying to find a contractor willing to provide us with a quote or step up to do an emergency repair is quite scarce as recently experienced when a waterpipe burst and a concrete step needed to be cut into, to lay new pipes. Irne was quick to assist us, not only with a superb job, but at a reasonable price. We can highly recommend Retro Construction and Irne Grobler's integrity in executing the job he set out to do.

Retro has completed a bathroom reno for us recently and we are very impressed with especially their design skills and how practical they've made it, doing things we would not have thought about in a million years! It has created extra floor space and packing space for us in this rather small bathroom we really needed. We have not been able to do the most glamorous bathroom due to our budget, but its neat, tidy and still modern. They were able to help us within the budget we had and were already planning the kitchen upgrade next year. So excited!
