Customer experiences

I had to write this because I disagree with all the negative pharmacy reviews I am reading. I have been a customer here for over 30 years and never had a problem with customer service. Most of the staff even recognize me and are always courteous and friendly.

This Rexall location is an absolute disgrace, mainly because of one particular lady working during the day shift who is ruining the entire pharmacy experience. I have never encountered someone so rude, careless, and unprofessional in all my years dealing with pharmacies. She treats patients — especially elderly ones — with zero respect and no empathy whatsoever. Simple issues like LU codes, which could be easily explained and corrected with a quick call to the doctor, are instead used as an excuse to overcharge customers without any explanation. Refills? Forget it. They don’t follow up, don’t notify when medications are running low, and couldn’t care less if your important prescriptions are out of stock. They routinely give less medication than prescribed and assume patients, especially seniors, won’t notice. Dealing with this woman feels like you are a burden instead of a valued patient. Her attitude is consistently rude, dismissive, and arrogant — totally unacceptable for a healthcare environment. We immediately transferred all our prescriptions to a pharmacy where the staff actually treat people with basic human decency. Stay far away from this Rexall, unless you enjoy being treated like garbage.

Terrible pharmacy department. Had a recent experience where they claimed to not have received a prescription, when in fact it was received. This is not the first time this has happened either. Most of the pharmacy staff are rude and have no customer service skills. I filed a complaint with their corporate office, but even they seem to lack basic communication skills. The only responses I received didn't even address my concerns at all. I received one communication stating that somebody from the store will contact me - and the sole response that I received from the store was that the prescription was not processed because it was filled at another pharmacy - not even addressing the fact that I was misled into believing the prescription had not been received. Of course it was sent to another pharmacy after the bad experience! Quite disappointed with this response, I asked them to transfer my remaining prescriptions to the other pharmacy I had used. They did so without even so much as making any sort of acknowledgment that they had done so. Even their supposed customer service department has yet to address any of this. No doubt they will just make a generic response to this negative review. In short, avoid the pharmacy here if you can. It's bad. Perhaps the OCP needs to look into this location. In terms of the rest of the store, Some of the pricing is egregious (eg over $4 for a single serving size bottle of cranberry juice) but they do have good deals on some things from time to time.

If I could rate it lower than a one, I would. I had a horrible experience today. An older East Asian employee alerted a coworker to come to the aisle where my family member and I were shopping and watch us. I didn’t realize it was a crime to take my time while looking for items. I left empty-handed because I'm not going to spend money in a place where the staff shows zero respect for customers. Perhaps it's time to teach your employees about the dangers of racially profiling people. It was truly disgusting behaviour.

Rexall Drugstore is a pharmacy.
