We stopped in to check out what was available. We were not disappointed. They have a full service spa, guest rooms, and options for well prepared foods. It is on the higher end, so you will be spending money, but you get good service for the costs. We had two entrees, bottled water, a scotch, a large glass of wine, a beer, a shot of Baileys, and a scoop of ice cream. The bill came out to $240. Most relaxing meal we have had in a while. We will be back to try out the spa! Two wings up! #MeetMrOwl #OwlsTweet #BirdLife #worldtraveler
From the moment we pulled up to the day we left the property, our stay was absolutely amazing. Everyone from the staff to the guests were all very nice. Our room and bathroom was pretty spacious, but they do need some remodeling. They remind me of rooms you would see in Europe - the old Victorian look. You can also choose a room with a walk-out balcony which we enjoyed. If you want to come to a resort that offers hiking, a horse stable, tennis, basketball, and so many other activities… this is the place to be! Breakfast was great with a good amount of options to choose from. Dinner was good as well. We also ventured off the property for lunch and a winery not far from the property. By the way, there are several wineries in the area. This is a must place to visit. Don’t forget to take a good look at the wall gallery by the front desk for a trip down history! We plan on coming back again and checking out the other amenities - including the resort style pool that was still under renovation. Thank you to the staff for making our stay a memorable one.
We had the absolute pleasure of being hosted by Asia during our recent visit to the Gold Cup Wine Bar at the Salamander Resort in Middleburg, Virginia — and we can confidently say she made our experience truly unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, Asia was warm, welcoming, and incredibly personable. She made us feel right at home with her friendly demeanor and genuine hospitality. What stood out most was her impressive knowledge of the menu — from wine pairings to culinary details, she offered thoughtful recommendations that elevated our entire evening. Asia has a natural gift for connecting with guests, and it’s clear she takes great pride in ensuring everyone has a top-tier experience. She's not only a consummate professional but also a true asset to the Gold Cup Wine Bar and the entire Salamander team. Her passion and dedication shine through in everything she does. If you're visiting the Salamander, do yourself a favor and hope Asia is working — she’ll take your experience from great to unforgettable.
The rooms are beautiful and large, with stunning bathrooms (including brightly lit vanities with ample counter space -- always a plus!), and the common areas of the resort are welcoming and relaxing. Loved the fire pit and proximity to town.
Salamander Middleburg is a spa.
