I never normally write reviews and understand this may have been a “one off” but feel compelled to share as this was my first time visiting the salon and I had read these reviews as a guiding point before booking. I booked for a full head of highlights and cut. The night before my appointment I received a message saying it was rescheduled, and then subsequently another message wrongly confirming that I had cancelled the appointment. I called first thing in the morning to query and they confirmed that I could still come in that day. When I arrived they explained that a stylist had called in sick which is completely understandable and cannot be avoided. However it felt evident throughout that they did not have capacity for my booking. I was taken to the chair and had the foils put in immediately. I had booked for a full head but realised that she was only doing a half head, and didn’t feel comfortable raising this as most of the foils were already in place. I was then taken to the basins to rinse out and to tone. Another stylist began rinsing my hair and then was called away. I was left at the basins with wet hair for approx 25 minutes until someone came back (2 other customers had washes whilst I was sat there), which was extremely uncomfortable on my neck and shoulders, and no one came to check on me/tell me how much longer it would be. In total I think was sat at the basins for over 45 minutes. I then was taken back to my seat for the cut and style. After leaving the salon I noticed obvious roots and uneven placement along my parting and front section. The foil placement lines are obvious throughout i.e not just on my parting. There are also large unhighlighted sections under the top layer giving a “streaky” effect. Overall even though appreciate they were understaffed so this may be a one-off bad day, I would not return and would not recommend for highlights.
Exceptional Care at Rush Just two weeks after undergoing brain tumor surgery, I visited Rush and had the absolute pleasure of being looked after by Tyrone and Angelina. My hair hadn’t been washed or brushed in that time and was severely matted, even in dreadlocks—but Tyrone worked wonders. He was incredibly gentle and attentive around my surgical wound, showing so much care and patience. I honestly didn’t think it was possible to detangle my hair in that condition, but he managed it all without causing me any pain. Angelina gave my hair a soothing wash with such tenderness—it truly felt like a healing experience. It took a long time due to the state my hair was in, but not once did they make me feel rushed or uncomfortable. Everyone was so kind and compassionate. And as if that wasn’t enough, Tyrone has a rescue dog, which just added to the warmth of the whole visit. Thank you to the team at Rush for turning a difficult moment into one filled with kindness and care. I’m incredibly grateful. Kerry xx
didn't want to leave a negative review for the salon however after being ignored by them they have given me no choice but to share my experience. This was my first time at this salon, I was very double minded due to my curly thick hair which not everyone knows how to handle or cut. I asked for layers and a balayge refresh. Danielle was kind and attentive. She said she would apply a toner to achieve the brown tone i was after, however the toner would wash out very quickly due to my hair texture. I asked if there was a alternative she said she could do a permanent toner which would last longer. I was confused and asked again if it would be a permanent toner not sure what her answer was, however the toner washed away in only 3 washes so it was definitely nothing permanent. She blowdried my curly hair to cut it which was already very confusing because that way you cannot see the natural curl pattern of the hair to determine the best cut for it. Then she trimmed my hair and said she would add the layers after the color. Their assistant took off the balayage and washed my hair, as she washed it she started to brush it in the basin with no conditioner which was very painful as my hair is thick curly and at that point it was soaking wet and tangled from the balaayage. She told me Danielle had instructed her to brush it with only shampoo and she continued and never double checked with her. This was really uncomfortable and painful. Danielle now had another client and i could definitely feel she was rushing between us. That made me feel under pressure . I had been there at this point nearly 3 hours. After toner and wash she did some more cutting and then I asked for it to be styled straight. Once it was blow dried and then straughtned which did require a lot of effort and time, I did mention I could not see the layers in the hair. She said as the hair was now straught it would not be visible. I was tired I had been there for 4.5 hours so I made my payment and left . My total was £177. End result: haircut with no layers, practically just a trim. Hair damage and frizz from the balayage. Toner washed out in only 3 washes. I have been contacting the salon for 3 weeks. They replied and told me to come in again however I do not live in the UK therefore I sent them photos. They told me I have to come in or there is nothing else they can do. Then they started ignoring my messages. I do not want another hair service from them as my hair is already damaged and I feel they are not familiar with my hairtype. I called the salon 4 days ago the manages was supposed to get In touch and they did not. Throughout the whole process I have only spoken to the kind receptionist. The manager doesn't seem bothered about the whole thing. I guess they got their money and they don't care about the outcome or service.
I had an amazing experience today at Rush hair salon in Putney I highly recommend Maria who did a balayage, olaplex treatment, cut and blow dry. Very knowledgeable and friendly. I walked out very happy. Thank you so much Maria
