Customer experiences
I was surprised with my experience. My colorist rushed the process and wasn't the friendliest. She also picked me up late for my appointment. During my color process there was product dripping on my face, my colorist never came to check on my hair until it was done. When I sat down for my cut I noticed that I had several places on my face that had color on it. Finally, she had a very heavy hand and hurt my scalp when she was washing me. I felt like I was bothering her, I was very uncomfortable. A young lady named Esther did my cut. She was absolutely fantastic. She was very kind, patient and attentive. This young lady removed the color from my face, that the colorist left behind. If the review I was leaving was just because of her it would be five stars all the way. Very lovely. Finally, I was very disappointed with the cleanliness of the bathroom. The salon itself seems fine but not five star by any mean. I was very caught off guard by the bathroom.
I requested a blowout, my stylist recommended curls instead and ended up just curling the ends off my hair which lasted all of 20 minutes not even for my event, Im very disappointed given I would have never spent money on the look she gave me as it’s not what i asked for. My hair had fallen on the ride home
Over the years, I’ve had manicures, pedicures, make-up, hair, waxing, facial, and massage services. While I’ve been satisfied with all of my services in the past, recently I’ve been getting waxed here, and I really appreciate how educated the estheticians are. This location is very flexible and accommodating to last-minute appointments and really shines in the spa. The masseuse is always communicative. Everyone is incredibly professional. My mom and I have been coming here for over 15 years. We love the quiet room and the lounge to enjoy a cup of tea or cucumber water before being serviced. Although the front desk staff sometimes can be rude, distracted, or not well trained, the overall experience here is relaxing and enjoyable.
I had the worst experience at Mario Tricoci Oakbrook. If you are looking for a colorist, go somewhere else. I have been going to Mario Tricoci for haircut for years. Recently I decided to color my hair. I used to see Gina. Recently I booked with a different colorist (her name is Celine) for root touch up and it told her exactly what I needed. (All what I needed is to match the roots with the rest of my hair) 10 minutes after she put the hair color on my hair, my scalp was on fire. I mentioned to her that my scalp is burning so much and she didn’t know why this happened but she had to wash my hair right away. ( I don’t even know what she put in the hair color) After only 10 minutes of applying the color my roots turned almost blond ( my natural hair color is black and I needed touch up ash brown) The manager came and apologized and offered to book me with a different colorist the next appointment and she booked me with falastine. The first time she did root touch up was ok , it was ash/medium brown. When I went back for another touch up 3 months later she color my roots black (which is my natural color). She was trying to convince me that she used the same color. She was rude and told me I can’t finish your hair color and called the manager which was a very rude person. She told me there is nothing we can do to help you. Half of my hair was black and the other half was light brown. I asked them to darken my hair so it would be one color even though it wasn’t the color I intentionally wanted. She refused and said no one is comfortable doing your hair and asked me to leave the hair salon without even getting a hair wash. This experience was the worst. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. They hire colorists with no experience and don’t know what they are doing. Every time you go with the same colorist to get the same color it ends up being a completely different. The manager was the rudest person I have ever met. The two pictures below are my roots and the rest of my hair. According to them they are the same color.
