We hired Schembri Engineering to complete our special inspections on our custom home build. Requested a home inspection to include foundation. A Arizona foundation repair company had told me I needed to spend $55,000 to repair my foundation. Phil, from Schembri engineers, examined every single room, wall, ceiling and floor. Including all exterior walls and garage. Phil did discover I had a trust in the roof that needed repair. No foundation issue at all. If you plan on having any serious work done on your home, I definitely recommend a structural engineer review. Phil is honest and straightforward. He did a great job.
I engaged Phil Schembri to evaluate a problem involving a crack in my concrete floor slab. During the conversation, I told Phil that a plumbing inspection had been performed and no leaks could be detected in the supply or sewer lines. He strongly advised a 2nd plumbing test by another company because he firmly believed the slab crack was a result of wet and expansive soil under the slab. He was CORRECT. A 2nd and 3rd plumbing test were done with inconclusive results, but enough evidence to warrant cutting open the slab. We found muddy soil and an improper plumbing repair from years earlier - before we purchased the home. SPOT ON assessment that has started us on the journey of remediating the problem. Thank you!
