This used to be my favourite place for lunch but the food has changed substantially and it no longer makes my top 7. Their fries used to be more home style, their gravy used to taste less packaged, their club house was stacked with meat. Now? Fries are undercooked and taste like your basic bag fries. No seasoning so I salt and peppered them. The gravy was terrible and packaged. I had to add tons of pepper to try and make it worth dipping in. The clubhouse was the saddest. I asked for a single because I don’t like a lot of bread, and the piece of chicken in it was as thin as a piece of thick cut sandwich meat, it only covered 1/2 the bread. The cheese was super thin and processed as well. I couldn’t image how bad it would be with three pieces of bread that comes with a standard club. I’m honestly really sad that it’s changed so much, i used to love it here. I can’t say this meal was anywhere near worth $17.95 (add gravy to the charge too). The cookie was still good, it’s just gotten smaller too. Good service. Just sad the food has slid downhill.
We had the battered Cod and the beef dip. The fish and the onion rings had a nice crispy coating. The coleslaw was very tasty. The Cod meal was not that hot in temperature. Seems as if it had been put aside so both meals could be served together. The beef dip was under seasoned, in my opinion, but it was good. Well presented, and each meal included a cookie. The service was pleasant.
Went for lunch last Friday with a coworker and was very impressed. The waiter was very nice; the food was excellent and quick. I had ordered the beef dip, the bun was fresh and I was pleasantly surprised with the fresh cookie and pickle that came with it.
