This shop is an amazing place to visit. It’s tiny, but absolutely chock full of all manner of creative ideas: wool, buttons, ribbons, scissors, crotchet hooks, knitting patterns, craft kits… the list is endless! I‘ve been popping into this shop for many years -it’s like being a child in a sweet shop-there are so many wonderful things and I want them all! I also appreciate that there is no hard sell-I was making enquiries about tatting materials but in the end, changed my mind. No problem! If you are looking for specific haberdashery, if you are looking for a craft kit or simply need a knitting pattern, this really is the best place in York to find what you need.

Had the most wonderful time here with Ash and Penelope. I never ever in a million years thought I would take time out of my day to write a review on buttons. Its not really about the buttons though, it was the staff. They felt like old friends and were so relatable and they played with my daughter too! They kept her entertained whilst I looked at the amazing selection of buttons. They were so patient with me and my indecisive mom brain 🥴 It was overall such a lovely experience and Ash and Penelope are truly an asset to this business. I almost felt like I was at the mad hatters tea party from Alice in Wonderland because we all got a bit loopy over the buttons ❤️ Thank you x
