If I could give 0 stars I would! I just recently signed documents for a new insurance policy with SGI and just because they are behind on processing policies I am responsible for paying $600 plus dollars for over 3 months of insurance?! How is that fair on us. These days people don’t sit on money and this should be their responsibility or they should offer free months for this inconvenience

Wish I could post this without putting any stars at all, your agents are some of the most unhelpful people on this planet. I would ask them questions to understand my situation better and I met with an exasperated sigh or sarcasm. Sorry for making you do your job? unfortunately even if you go to other SGI accredited offices and they need to call SGI you are still dealing with ,unfortunately SGI. I have been in customer service since I was 17 and I have never experienced such horrible customer service from most of your agents

Misleading Information Regarding Required Documents for Driving Recognition Program I am writing to express my dissatisfaction regarding an experience I had on the morning of September 2,2025 when I visited your office to submit a claim history letter as part of the Driving Recognition Program. During my visit, the representative informed me that I also needed to provide a driving abstract along with the claim history letter. Based on this information, I went ahead and obtained the abstract, which cost me close to $25. However, I later discovered that the driving abstract was not actually required for the program. This misinformation led me to spend time and money unnecessarily. I believe this could have been avoided with clearer and more accurate guidance from your staff. I kindly request that better training or updated procedures be put in place to ensure correct information is given to customers in the future. Additionally, I would appreciate it if you could review this matter and consider a reimbursement for the $25 spent due to the error. Thank you for your attention to this issue. I look forward to your response.

If I could give this place negative stars, I would. This insurance company has caused me to be in the absolute worst situation of my life. Ill paint you a picture: imagine being able to purchase your first home, and needing to have home insurance. You go here and everything seems to be going smoothly; get a policy, have it set up on monthly payments, and sign off on all of that. Fast forward 2 weeks: first payment is supposed to come out. A day and a half later: a payment does come out but it is for the entire year, not just one month. After using the majority of your savings to purchase and set up this home, now you are put into your overdraft for the first time in your entire life. And the kicker, you are currently on vacation in Canmore Alberta when this all happens. So, you call the brokerage once it opens but no one answers and you keep getting sent to voicemail. It takes 5 phone calls over the course of 3 hours and 2 emails before you can finally talk to someone. Now begins the excuses "I don't know where the glitch happened" "your insurance provider is closed for the long weekend" "we can not just refund this policy" "you will have to wait til Tuesday" So, you are able to make it home by some drastic measures and now its Tuesday. Again you are met with more excuses "All the paperwork was right so we don't know how this happened" "Its unfortunate but all we can do is cancel and rewrite the policy, and maybe you will get your refund in 5 to 7 days" "There is no way for us to make this right for you for all the suffering you had to do" "We will give you a little bit of money to cover your car payment, but it is due the moment you receive your refund" "This is a really good learning tool on our end" So, its now Thursday, and you are still almost zero in your bank account, and no one has gotten back to you since they basically forced you to take the rewrite and potential refund. Thursday afternoon: now being called from the brokerage and saying SGI is requiring me to do even more work to attempt to have the money that was illegally taken from me returned to my account. All of this with absolutely no compensation beyond an "im sorry" DO BETTER! NEVER EVER DEAL WITH THIS PLACE IF YOU CAN GO ANYWHERE ELSE.

SGI is a insurance company.
