Came here for dinner a few weeks ago and loved everything we had! I will say the small plates felt more varied and diverse in flavor than the main entrees but the mains are quite good, as well. The frena is amazing - fluffy, garlicky, and delightful. We tried the hummus, the arctic char, the chicory salad, butter beans, seasoned fries (perfectly crisped), and lamb skewer. I'd say the lamb skewer was incredibly well seasoned and cooked perfectly - would recommend. We had the tahini soft serve at the end which was good but maybe way too much on top of what we already ate - worth trying but would sample the other sorbet instead.
Shukette serves fine dining quality food in a casual and fun setting. With music blaring and conversations rumbling, it’s hard not to at least order a NA beverage or a cocktail to get into the mood of the place. The food service was shockingly quick and there was plenty of staff to make sure that we had everything we needed. They were also well in tune with the allergies the table and were accommodating to our requests. Let me just say this: if you make your own bread, I will love your restaurant. So you might of guessed it, I love this place. With a handful of Middle Eastern classics to choose from, it seems like it’s hard to go wrong. On the flip side of this, I wasn’t crazy for the Fava Bean dip, but, the smoked trout was delicious and I’d eat it on just about anything. Every protein was expertly seasoned and/or marinated. I’d I only had two major qualms with the service: 1. Serving kabob skewers straight off the grill looks really cool presentation wise, but that requires customers to handle hot metal sticks. 2. The service itself was a bit chaotic, and while the staff did a great job clearing plates, they lost track of what we had ordered at a point and looked to us to tell them what else was missing And not really a third but kinda a personal thing is that the Tahini Ice Cream was really weird. That’s all.
A memorable and decadent experience for the books! Coming into this vibrant and bustling Middle Eastern restaurant, you’ll see quickly why this restaurant is so popular. Food is delicious and flavorful and cocktails were creative and tasty. Plates come out very quickly, so be prepared! Service is quite good, considering how busy it gets. The environment may be a bit too loud for some but personally I didn’t find an issue with it. Reservations may be difficult but worth it!
My experience at Shukette was truly one of a kind. We arrived earlier than our reservation time—something I recommend doing, regardless—and still got seated promptly. The heated patio was indeed warm and completely covered. While the interior can be a bit cramped and loud, it still creates a pleasant atmosphere for dinner. Regarding the food, everything we ordered was amazing, but I highly recommend trying the hummus and cauliflower; they are must-haves. However, we did face an unexpected issue when two of our meals were delayed and arrived about 45 minutes later than the others. Fortunately, our waitress, Hailey, went above and beyond to address the problem. Not only did she apologize, but she also brought us an extra mezze to try, comped one of the delayed dishes, and treated us to the famous tahini soft serve. Despite the mix-up with our meals, we ended up having an extremely enjoyable dinner with some delightful extras! If you haven't had the chance yet, I also recommend checking out their sister restaurant, Shuk! Both places demonstrate that affordable small meals can be incredibly delicious!
