Disgraceful Attitude from Staff — Deeply Disrespectful I’m honestly stunned by the treatment I received today. As a current paying member of this gym, I stopped by to ask about membership options for a friend who’s interested in joining. What should’ve been a quick, courteous conversation turned into one of the most shockingly rude and dismissive encounters I’ve ever had in any customer service setting. The staff member at the front desk couldn’t have been more condescending if they tried. They barely made eye contact, spoke in an irritated tone as if I was inconveniencing them, and then flat-out told me to “check out other gyms” — as if I wasn’t already a committed member. The level of disrespect was beyond unprofessional — it was insulting. Let me be crystal clear: this is not how you treat people who are supporting your business. If this gym can’t even offer basic decency or courtesy to its own members, what does that say about its values? I’ve never written a review like this before, but this crossed the line. I felt unwelcome, disrespected, and genuinely embarrassed for even asking a question. I won’t be recommending this place to anyone — and after this, I’m seriously considering cancelling my own membership. Avoid this place if you value being treated like a human being. There are plenty of gyms out there that understand how to treat their members with respect — clearly, this is not one of them.
Personally i want it only 4 stars, because parking is always so full. as soon as I did a membership they don't show you around, talk to you or nothing. Which I kind of like cause they don't annoy you or pressure you to join etc. Other then that this place is huge as! Theres so much equipment and a basket ball ring! And a girls area too. Girls toilet has a sauna. Which i never use anyways. But handy for some. And there renovation but have no idea what there planning there.
Overall is a decent gym, staff are friendly, people who go there can be nice. But i've had to cancel my membership as it doubled in price and seems as though its gotten worse. there's been many times there was no toilet paper in the womens gym, no paper towel to wipe down machines, and NO AIR CON!! these should be the bare minimum of running a gym. I find i'm sweating before even getting to my warm up. Is so unsafe, its been like this for a while now. It used to be good, but ever since the price increase its gone downhill. sad, i used to love the gym.
Derrimut Thomastown Gym is fantastic with variety of exercise equipment with cheap annual membership fee, which I consider as value for money (Five Star Rating). However, currently going through partial renovation without any protection for the gym users. Inside air quality is very poor with construction dust and all equipment is dusty. I think, it is illegal to carry out internal renovations without any protection or blocking out from the other areas of the gym as the construction dust is all over the gym, very specially closer to the renovation place (only 5 meters away from the gym and it is open to the gym area, no body bothered to seal off that area to contain the construction dust). This is a health and safety issue for the users (One Star Rating). I don't want this to happen. I joined recently and with the 2nd visit to the gym, I was down with breathing difficulty due to breathing construction dust while using the gym.
