All I have to say is Chris and his team are absolutely amazing. I’ve been coming here since I was a teenager and today I got the privilege of bringing my son for his first haircut. Brandon I believe his name was did an absolutely amazing job with my son. He was so patient and understanding and he even went out of his way to get some laughs out of my little man while he was cutting his hair. For anyone with an almost 1 year old you know how hard it is to get them to sit still yet Brandon was able to make his hair look phenomenal. Also I’m sorry but I forgot the name of my barber. He’s the first one you see when you walk into the door with the glasses. But he is also amazing super understanding and he knew I was trying to get some picture of my kids haircut and he was perfectly ok with it and super patient with me. This team of men cutting hair is the realest team I’ve seen. They are truly the A team.

I was visiting from out of state for a wedding and looking for a last minute cut and beard trim. I looked for a place where I could get an appointment but given the short notice nothing was available and I came across The Gentleman's Barbershop in Mount Joy. Lucky for me they only do walk-ins but one review noted it can be a long wait especially on Saturdays. I arrived about 10 minutes before opening and indeed there was a line down the block. When the doors opened one of the barbers (I believe Chris) took everyone's name and he let me know the wait might be two hours. Given my limited options I found a chair and made myself comfortable. While I waited I took in the surroundings and this is definitely a man's man type of place. There's a pool table, foosball table, and TVs with sports and sports news on the wall. The ambience is further bolstered by old barber gear, license plates from around the US and beyond, the requisite mounted deer heads, antique motorcycles, and even a taxidermy bear. The space is large and full of character and I particularly loved the old wooden floors. I counted 7 barber chairs while I was there and 5 were actively in use. Unlike some barber chairs I've sat in throughout the years these were in good condition and for the chairs I saw, none were ripped or in poor condition. My wait for the cut was just over 90 minutes and Chris acknowledged myself and several other gentlemen that we'd be coming up soon. During my wait folks came in and were greeted by various barbers and given the notice that the wait was 2-3 hours at some point. Some folks stayed, and others said they'd be back at a later time but not once did I see someone upset about the wait. While waiting I also took note of several things. 1. They took their time with each cut no matter who was in the chair (kids included) 2. They consulted with the person getting the cut and the responsible adult for kids. 3. The barbers clearly have a great working relationship and bantered with each other throughout. 4. One of my favorite parts of visiting this shop was seeing English and Spanish used interchangeably as needed for the comfort of the particular client. When it was my turn I was called over and met Branden who was friendly and listened to my wishes. He made suggestions, asked questions, and took his time to ensure I got the cut and beard trim I wanted. At the end, I was told the price and was quite surprised at how reasonable it was. Based on reviews I've read, it appears that some concerns were raised about barbers that are no longer part of the team. If I had any small things to point out I'd say having the prices posted would make things a little more approachable for the initiated like myself. Also, while you don't go to the barber for the restroom, it could use a little love. My experience here was worth the wait and if I lived in the area I'd be happy to patronize this shop on the regular. Seriously, such a great experience. Thanks Branden (and others) for making me feel welcome and giving me a great cut and trim!

Took my son to get his haircut today. Walked in a saw a sign on bulletin about be aware of “price increase”. There was no sign on the wall displaying haircut prices nor do they have any information on their website. I thought it would be a small increase until my son was done and I asked the price and the barber said “40” dollars. This will be the last time going there. 40 dollars for a haircut plus a tip…price gouging for sure. Also, plan to wear jackets, this place doesn’t keep the place warm at all. I saw three people waiting and they kept their heavy jackets on.
