This place is buzzing with energy! The atmosphere is vibrant, and the fact that it was fully booked speaks volumes about its popularity. To start, we received a complimentary snack from the kitchen—fried chickpeas. While they were crispy and lightly spiced, they leaned heavily on the salty side, which set the tone for what was to come. Let’s talk about the food. While the restaurant exudes the vibe of chic fast-casual dining, the food preparation process didn’t quite live up to the aesthetic. Their signature dish, a broccoli Caesar, for example, was steamed, grilled, and then reheated in the oven before landing on the plate. By the time it reached us, it felt like the life (and nutritional value) had been processed right out of it. The seasoning across the board was overwhelming—salt seemed to be the star of the show. As someone who values fresh, nutritious meals and a healthy lifestyle, this experience was a miss for me. Not only did I leave feeling unwell, but I also had a terrible night’s sleep afterward. Adding to the frustration, our reservation was mishandled, leaving us seated at the bar directly in front of the kitchen. While this might sound exciting to some, the air quality was unpleasant—it often smelled burnt, which only added to the discomfort. I couldn’t shake the feeling that I lost a few hours of my life here. If you’re looking for a lively vibe and aren’t too particular about fresh, health-conscious meals, you might enjoy the energy at Fox and the Knives. For me, though, it was a one-and-done kind of experience.

We ordered four of the most popular dishes and can confirm that everything was delicious. That said, the pasts were exceptionally delicious. Would definitely come here again but probably will pass on dessert.

This was our first time in, recommended by our close friend! The food was amazing! We loved our dessert-chocolate olive oil tort- absolutely delicious ! Our waitress Janice was so sweet and explained everything to us and gave us many great suggestions! My fiancé got the mushroom pasta and I got the wild boar bolognese! Homemade pasta was a key to our heart. We got two apps: the burratta and brocolli Ceasar. Both very good! The burratta was so creamy and my fav btwn the two. We celebrated my birthday and it was deff worth our while and our meal was very pleasant! We will certainly be back!

We had seats at the counter and loved to see the action taking place in front of us. The chefs were so friendly, and although working hard, would give a nod or a wave to recognize us. They even let us take pictures while they worked. Our server Kim was very lovely and so attentive. The rest of the staff were also wonderful. I ordered the Tarragon Gimlet and after the first one, I asked for more tarragon and they obliged twice more ...so good. We ordered the broccoli Caesar, and just like folks say, it was absolutely fantastic! I am going to recreate this at home for sure. The rosemary focaccia was pillowy, very buttery and rich. The Tagliatelle Bolognese was the best we have ever had (and we have had it in Italy). The pasta was perfect and the sauce was delicate and not heavy on red wine or heavy meat like most places serve it. The only dish we didn't love was the pork belly with lentils. The pork belly was so fatty we could only eat one piece. However, they graciously took it off our bill because I said something about it. We ordered the dirty Affogato for dessert and it hit the spot after dinner. We had a great experience and if we are ever visiting Boston again, we would definitely come back to this fantastic restaurant. And BTW, the women's restrooms have everything you need. Nice personal touch from the owner Karen.
