A wonderful café with a lovely friendly atmosphere. We were welcomed and given a nice spot by the fire to warm up. The food was delicious and also had a little box for taken my little one's leftovers home. All in all, it is a perfect spot for food and drink!

Stopped in for a quick drink while on a cold January walk. Unfortunately we left a long while later and even colder. Drinks took nearly 30 mins to arrive and the restaurant itself was very cold and a bit lifeless. Decor is very strange and they definitely need some heating. Won't be returning. Only redeeming feature was that the coffee was alright.

My wife and I visited for breakfast, it's dog friendly so we also took our spaniel. We arrived when it opened at 10am but it was already quite busy as they had a group booking. We sat outside as it was nice and it's a lovely setting with a view of the lake nearby. The food arrived quickly considering the group size before us and the service was polite and friendly. We both had a cooked breakfast and it was lovely with good quality local produce so one of the tastiest cooked breakfasts we've had. I even ate the black pudding and I am not a fan of this at all but it was really nice. The only negative was that we were told the toast was forthcoming but it didn't come so had to ask, it arrived after we'd finished our breakfast unfortunately but we still ate it! The group booking took some of their time away so it was understandable but they were apologetic and offered us something for free but we declined. Would definitely recommend based on what we experienced there.

We have visited this cafe a few times now since being taken over. The new owners aren't very friendly and you feel like you aren't welcome. The service is shockingly slow, every time we have ordered drinks they take at least 1/2 hour to arrive even when the cafe is empty. The decor of the new cafe is confused and cluttered. The menu now represents a transport cafe and is very overpriced for what you get. We both had a breakfast when the cafe was first taken over, it came with literally one egg one sausage some beans, under cooked mushrooms and a slice of toast which cost £15 each and took ages to arrive. This place used to be brilliant and the old owners we very friendly and had a lovely home cooked menu. I find this place depressing now and overpriced... its a shame as it in such a lovely setting.
