Customer experiences
Great service, priced great for oil change, was knocked off my chair when I got charged $ 218 extra to hook up computer to see what the codes were. In past at other shops I was charged diagnostic on the day of repairs. Other than that awesome service, great guys ! Bob you have a great crew. Matt Boozer Indoor Media
I had a repair issue (electrical) that I could not fix myself. The mechanic resolved it. Having a competent, trustworthy mechanic as a backup to me is huge in my estimation. The shop manager, Chet, was great to work with, very willing to go the extra mile to coordinate with me in my getting my vehicle to them.
Took a 2005 Astro van into Jacksons auto in July of 2023 with 153K miles on it. A/C had worked up till then. They charged me $550 and it lasted till next spring. Took it back and they charged me $955 and it lasted till the following spring. Went in this July and they wanted $3250 to fix it. I seemed to have 3 parts that needed to be changed. Cost for parts $125 off the street. They said that they could sharpen there pencil and do it for $2550. I smell a rat here. Needless to say they are not the A/C specialists they are supposed to be. BEWARE!!!
NEVER trust an auto repair shop that doesn't show you your old brake pads after being replaced. And that tells you it's customary to replace the rotors when replacing the brake pads. My 20 year old daughter brought her 2014 Chevy Equinox to Jacksons because the tail lights weren't working. She asked if they would also look at the brake pads to see if they needed to be replaced. They told her that all four brake pads needed to be replaced. (I don't think they all needed to be replaced.) She trusted that they knew what they were doing so agreed to have them replaced. When she picked up her vehicle, the bill was over $1,300. They told her that, every time you replace brake pads, the rotors also need to be replaced. (This is not true.) They took advantage of her. This is her first experience having repairs done to her vehicle. I told her to use this as a learning experience and that you can't trust a lot of these auto repair businesses. BEWARE: DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE TO THIS SHOP. UPDATE AFTER RESPONSE FROM SHOP: We were shown 2 of the 4 brake pads after we asked to see them and they had to be dug out of the garbage. And again, you can replace brake pads without having to replace the rotors if the rotors are fine. The brake pads were not so low that the rotors had to be replaced as well.
