Thank you Sunset Vet and Dr. Rita for your compassion and support during such a difficult time. October 2 we had to say goodbye to our girl Stella. Dr Rita made the experience so much easier. She walked us through , she was empathetic, she did not make us feel at all rushed through the process- and she checked back in with us the next day. Though it was a hard decision Dr. Rita truly made us realize we were making the right decision. Being able to do this at home and have our other dogs say goodbye as well was really worthwhile for us. I am so appreciative for you Dr. Rita and for all of you at Sunset Vet. What a wonderful service you provide those who unfortunately require it. The resources provided were also very helpful. I have already sung your praises to some friends that unfortunately may have to experience the same thing soon.
On August 1 we said goodbye to our beloved golden, Sawyer. Dr. Liz was there from Sunset. Such gentle and compassionate care. We cannot say enough about how thoughtful and empathetic she was. From my first conversation with them to our last goodbye to Sawyer it was as positive an experience we could hope for in the darkest of times. Thank you Sunset for providing a much needed service to our fur babies and their families.
On May 15, 2025 we said goodbye to our beautiful girl, our cat, Diego. Having been diagnosed with an aggressive form of lymphoma, her remaining days were few. The news was devastating. She was only 8. But we could not be more grateful to Sunset for their incredible compassion and care, and for their understanding as we struggled with knowing “when”. Nicole so graciously answered all of our questions and arranged the appointment, and Dr. Rita McKay, who is compassionate beyond words, came to our home. Her gentle, quiet, and caring demeanour with Diego (and with our dog Haybale who was with us the entire time) was truly exceptional. It’s hard to imagine someone you’ve never met in your home at such a private time, but she immediately became part of Diego’s family. We are forever grateful to Dr.Rita & Nicole at Sunset. Thank you so much. Shannon & Keith & Haybale xo
Sadly we have had to use Sunset 3 times in past few years. All the staff were wonderful and caring. Thank you so much to Dr. Rita in helping us say goodbye to both Neala and Sasha. Your empathy and kindness was so appreciated! ❤️
