It’s not just about food and drinks, it’s about community, art, and culture. The space has a bohemian charm, with a mix of bookshop, bottle shop, and dining all rolled into one. Synonym is a great local gem in my opinion. We first discovered it summer 2024 during art crawl. We grabbed a seat on their patio with our toy poodle and enjoyed the festivities with some wine. We returned this summer for Sunday breakfast and loved the food we ate. The service is always exquisite and staff is very warm, welcoming and polite. I truly recommend stopping in here!

My first visit to Synonym did not disappoint. They had a nice selection of baked goods to choose from, perfect as I wasn't there for a full meal but the pastry was filling enough. When I picked up the latte from the counter I was concerned it wouldn't be big enough, but I think the glass just made it a bit of an optical illusion; it was a typical drink size. My only note was the music was a perfect volume (loud enough to not hear other tables conversations but not too loud that we needed to shout) but the pauses in between songs suddenly made the space very quiet. The bathroom also could've used some TLC, but that could've been a one-off. Lovely spot, will be back for more coffee and to try something from their full menu!

Charming coffee spot in Hamilton! So glad we chose this place for breakfast. The coffee was absolutely exquisite, rich, smooth, and perfectly brewed. I also loved the breakfast sandwich; it was both adorable in presentation and delicious. A cozy and delightful start to the day 👌🏻
