Sam at That Crafty Stitch is an absolute joy of an human and I’m so glad she’s opened up a fun and fresh shop in Torquay. I have visited the shop many times and always come away with something fun. I can say with certainty after using her Squishy One yarn (a super bulky chenille) that it is high quality and doesn’t felt or molt like some cheap ones can. It’s soft and has a large range of beautiful colours. *I’ve included pictures of the stuffed toys I crocheted with her yarn.* I make a lot of toys for my nephews and friends and I go through this type of yarn very quickly. I won’t be purchasing it anywhere else. That Crafty Stitch is my go-to. I haven’t used her other yarns yet as I have a rather large stash I need to get through but that won’t stop me visiting because of her range of curated notions and accessories. See crafty folks know that knitting and crochet is about more than just yarn, needles and hooks. There are a lot of fun stationary, pins, keychains and other tools that look really nice as well as functioning well. A beginner can walk into Sam’s shop and find everything they need to get started, from an easy to use kit that includes everything or get creative and chat with Sam and she’ll guide you through picking out the perfect yarn for your next project, then finish it all with the perfect project bag to keep it altogether without things tangling up and you’re all set! I have always found the shop comforting, clean and beautiful. Every time I walk in there is something new to see and Sam is so sweet and friendly that I always leave feeling excited about knitting all over again.

This is my favourite small business to buy yarn from! Up to now i haven’t found higher quality chenilles (the squishy one). They’re the perfect softness, weight, and I love the selection of colours for making plushies, which are always complimented for their softness! Also recently inspired me to have a go at a blanket which I’m enjoying! It’s clear the owner puts a lot of time and effort into interacting with customers and discovering their wants and needs and adjusting to them. Love their ethos of encouraging people to join this lovely hobby 🧡🧶

I cant complain! Literally everything I’ve brought from The Crafty Stitch has been such good quality, the pattern have been so easy to follow. I started as a complete beginner by making a bobble hat and now I have a wardrobe filled with multiple jumpers and cardigans all made using patterns and yarns from here. Dont be afraid to get started.

A truly fabulous shop ! My favourite shop to buy yarn l, the range of colours is amazing, and plenty of different yarns to chose from, the shop is a modern twist on classic craft shops and is very fitting with the younger crowd who are getting into crochet or knitting there are plenty of beginner kits for first timers and Sam the owner is always happy to chat and answer questions, Torquay needs more shops like this!
