Customer experiences
Such a disappointing experience at the FTL location a couple of years ago. I felt the process was misleading and not worth the money spent. FTL location lacks professionalism. In contrast, my interactions at the Miami location were more helpful hence why we pursued The Academy. Also we chose the FTL campus because it’s where I lived at the time, but unfortunately, the level of service didn’t meet expectations. Everything was misleading and a waste of money and time. The Campus Director was particularly difficult to communicate with, often speaking over me during conversations with her; the customer service received from that location rated ZERO. They also tend to give different exam from the course as “ that course no longer exists” so gave similar exam to the course and no refund smh. How deceiving and crazy!!! Overall, I regret wasted my money at this school and would not recommend it.
Kayla was a sweetheart very thoughtful quick and covered everything. She was a pleasure to work with. She even let me to take my picture twice because I didn’t like the first one
Kayla and Letika were very helpful and made the process for my TWIC card fast and easy!! Thank you guys :) Please be nice to them !!
My experience with the Academy of South Florida has been frustrating and absolutely not worth the $10,000 student loan I took out to attend. I hesitated to enroll for years, and when I finally decided to go for it, I ended up deeply disappointed. The program was supposed to last 24 weeks, but it's now been over a year and I’m still not finished, mainly due to poor scheduling and limited course availability. Despite receiving the full $10K, they asked me to pay extra for lab access, even though I was told everything I needed was included in the tuition. I was also assured I’d receive better support as a prepaid student compared to those on workforce grants, but that didn’t happen either. I was dropped into the middle of advanced courses instead of starting with A+ and Net+, because courses are only offered at specific times. At one point, I even ended up repeating the same Azure course due to overlapping schedules and a shared instructor. There were also multiple forced breaks between classes, sometimes lasting weeks, through no fault of my own. Communication from the staff was poor and inconsistent, and the job assistance offered was basically just links to job boards I was already subscribed to. If I could go back, I would choose a different school, preferably one that offers a job guarantee or a refund policy, like the one the Academy ironically liked on social media. If I had to attend again, it would only be through employer sponsorship and only for what was strictly necessary for a job promotion. I wouldn’t recommend this school to anyone. I’ve honestly learned more from Udemy, and while the Academy does have a few solid instructors, I wish I had spent my money elsewhere. The only reason I thought this was a 5-star school is because I hadn’t looked at their Yelp reviews, where the real feedback is buried under one-star ratings.
The Academy is a computer training school.
