My recent visit to Rustic Eatery left much to be desired, and I feel compelled to share my experience for those who may be considering dining here. What started as a quiet lunch outing quickly turned into a less-than-enjoyable experience, marred by a variety of issues, from ambiance concerns to the quality of food. Upon arrival, the restaurant was not busy at all. In fact, it seemed like a perfect spot for a peaceful lunch, which is why we decided to place our order. However, soon after we sat down, the atmosphere dramatically changed as the restaurant quickly filled up with guests. While it’s understandable that a popular eatery can get crowded, the real problem was the loud music that followed. It became almost impossible to carry on a conversation, as the noise level shot up due to the combination of the music and the chatter from the newly arrived diners. It’s worth noting that the lighting was also inadequate for the time of day. The natural daylight coming in wasn’t sufficient, and the dim interior lighting didn’t help. This made the setting less appealing, as we were constantly adjusting to the lighting conditions, which felt more suited for dinner rather than lunch. The air conditioning was another major issue. Despite being on, it did not seem to be properly cooling the restaurant, which may have been due to its location on the top floor. This left us feeling somewhat uncomfortable as the place became more crowded, and the warmth inside was not conducive to enjoying a meal. It was disappointing that such basic aspects of the dining experience, like temperature and lighting, were not adequately managed. We ordered a few different dishes, including the Jamaican chicken meal, beef bulgogi, beef spaghetti, and a creamy chicken soup. Despite the restaurant being nearly empty when we placed our order, we were told by the server that the food would take 35 minutes to arrive. A 35-minute wait time for lunch is excessive, especially when there are no other guests waiting ahead of us. Nonetheless, we decided to wait. When the food finally arrived, the quality varied drastically. The creamy chicken soup was the only highlight of the meal. It was well-made, flavorful, and comforting. Unfortunately, that was the extent of the positive aspects. The rest of the dishes were incredibly spicy – almost unbearably so. The Jamaican chicken, beef bulgogi, and beef spaghetti were all intensely hot, far beyond what one would expect from a typical meal. The level of spice was overwhelming to the point where we couldn’t enjoy the flavors of the food itself. While we understand that some cuisines are meant to be spicy, this was more like fire in our mouths than a pleasant culinary experience. In summary, while Rustic Eatery may have a good reputation for certain dishes, our overall experience was far from satisfactory. The ambiance issues, combined with the excessive wait time for food and the unbearable spiciness of the dishes (except for the soup), left us feeling disappointed. It’s unlikely that we will return, as we felt that both the environment and the food failed to meet our expectations.
Me and my cousin went to Rustic Eatery Banani to try out their Christmas Platter which includes 2 bacon soups, 2 pieces of quarter bbq chicken, 2 vegetable shasliks and one brownie. Every item was good but the shaslik was "meh". The service was pretty good but the atmosphere can be updated a bit more. Overall the experience was quite good!
I recently visited one of my favorite spots, Rustic Eatery in Banani, and as always, they delivered. I ordered their katsu and fries, lemon butter fish, sunrise orange, and mango lime. The katsu and fries were as spot-on as usual, but the lemon butter fish really surprised me—it was tender, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. The drinks, especially the mango lime, were incredibly refreshing. Rustic Eatery never fails to impress me with both the quality and quantity they offer at such a reasonable price. It’s definitely a place I’ll keep coming back to!
Food was good but the atmosphere was not. It was quite hot. There were issues with the air conditioners, only one ac was working. They reserved tables in front of the one fully functioned ac so we couldn’t get those seats. When we asked them to turn on the fan they positioned the fan towards the ac tables. It was hard to be there. Dhanmondi outlet is wayyyy better. Do not recommend Banani Outlet.
