Clocktower is located on the second floor, right above a bar. It was surprising that they were not booked out for a friday night. The decor was nice, it was dark but kinda of fit in with the whole vibe. We were seated right away and service was great. Only complaint was that I waited a really long time for my first cocktail. The complimentary bread and butter was pretty nice. We started with the tuna tartare, the spicy mayo was very unique in terms that I have never had this combination at other places. But my boyfriend and I both agreed that we had wish there were some sort of cracker or chips with it. The seared scallops were perfectly done, the grapes added a little sweet ting to the whole dish. And the cauliflower puree was exceptional. We ended with the beef wellington and I had to say was a great way to end the night. The mashed potatoes was really good. The greens were cut in different proportions which was kind of annoying. The wellington itself was kinda salty but because it was good overall I didn't take any points off.
We came here on a recent trip to NYC. We came specifically for the beef Wellington for 2 which certainly delivered. It was cooked perfectly! They do give you a heads up when ordering that it takes 45 minutes. We knew we would be full from that so we skipped appetizers. Our waitress was great. It was very dark in the dining room we were in but it was very cozy with a fireplace. The only service hiccup was a food runner from the kitchen attempted to deliver food to our table that wasn't ours, it was for the table next to us. Then later on the same guy went to deliver food to the table on the other side of us, but it was not their food either but a table towards the front of the room. Not a big deal, just something to note! We overall enjoyed our meal here and would definitely recommend the Wellington
I had the Beef Wellington for Two, which was cooked to perfection. I was particularly excited by how perfectly the carrot was cooked. It's easy to find restaurants that can cook steak well, but it is difficult to find ones that can cook vegetables well. Highly recommend to couples for dinner dates.
