I was part of the Product Management cohort at the Product School Toronto. Our instructor was Ahmed Nizami and we had an excellent experience learning from him. The course was fast paced but Ahmed made sure he clarified all our questions and provided us with some great inputs and resources. Ahmed as a Product Manager at Amazon, provided us with some great insights and instances from his own experience as a PM at Amazon. The course was very interactive and I learnt tricks that I can use throughout my career. The course content itself designed by Product School needs to be improved with adding more hands on experience with the tools and making the learning portal more easy to use. Other than this had a great experience with this program.

The Product Management course of Product School is an excellent investment for those who are looking for a new career in the product area. The course provides theoretical content mixed with practise exercises, which is really helpful in understanding how to apply the knowledge in daily situations. I just would like to have more time for the exercises in class. Maybe if the theory should be read as homework before the class, we could have more time for the activities. My instructor was Nimrod Fox which conduct our classes very well, providing accurate feedback along with each activity. As I'm a newcomer in Canada, it also helped me to get a better understanding of the market, and how to find my first job as a product manager here.

The course has some merit but it is definitely not worth the fees charged for any of the certifications. Your progress and opportunity to learn also depends on the instructor of your class and I have noticed that they engage lots of instructors who are really not that experienced in Product Management. Another aspect to remember is that a significant number of inexperienced graduates get into product management as their first job and some of the instructors are such who have gained 4-5 years of experience.

I took the 8 weeks product management course at Product School, Toronto. 3 reasons why I choose Product School - 1. Brand 2. Instructors are from top start ups 3. Network one can leverage on. The course content is well designed and my instructor Amin Bashi (ex google, ex Shopify, ex crowdriff) was able to bring all his real time experiences that gave us a solid foundation and better understanding on all things about product management. Amin is super passionate, very helpful and the best part was he invited couple of guest PM's from his network to talk about their PM experiences, work and we had interactive sessions. Moreover, while learning is one thing, putting together in action is the key in the learning process. Every week you have assignments which is super challenging and you also get the feedback from instructor which is important because you are guided by an expert so this gives you lot of confidence throughout the course and also work on areas of improvements . You also get to do assignments during classes in groups and make a quick presentation so you get to learn from your friends in your class too. Amin once again invited 3 guest PM's on final week this time to judge our final presentation! It was really really helpful to get their feedback. The Product School did a great job organising be it materials, the class room arrangements very convenient downtown location. Overall, I would strongly recommend Product School if you are trying to transition into Product Management.
