This was my third visit to The Common Stove and my family’s first — and, just as I promised them, everything about the experience was outstanding. The food, service, and atmosphere all lived up to the high expectations I’ve come to associate with this place. Our server, Rachel, was excellent — friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. She stayed perfectly in tune with our table the entire evening. The steak was cooked exactly to order and was absolutely delicious, and the chop house potatoes were a true delicacy — a must-try for anyone dining here. Even after a long drive to get to The Common Stove, we all agreed it was worth every mile. Highly recommended!

We had an exceptional dining experience at The Common Stove, truly a standout compared to the well-known chains. Our server was impeccable, friendly, and attentive to every detail. They even reserved a wonderful spot for us near the kitchen so we could enjoy the energy and watch the action unfold. The food was outstanding. The ribeye was incredibly tender, juicy, and perfectly infused with a rich smokiness. We ended the meal with a delightful sticky toffee pudding, complete with a sparkler that made our anniversary celebration even more special. The restaurant was beautifully decorated in the festive spirit, and we especially appreciated the thoughtful touch of the enclosed entryway with a curtain to prevent drafts...a small detail that made a big difference in comfort for the diners. Overall, a flawless 5-star experience. The Common Stove absolutely deserves its recent recognition as part of the top restaurants in Canada. Thank you for a memorable evening!

We drove up from the city on a Sunday evening just for the Sunday Roast, and it was absolutely worth it. The prime rib was one of the best I’ve ever had. We also tried the steak tartare, the filet, a side of fries, and the chop house potatoes, all of which were perfect. The sticky toffee pudding should not be missed as well. The service was friendly and attentive. I highly recommend making the drive here.

This place deserves a Michelin grading. Seriously. Their food is immaculate and never disappoints. Top curated ingredients, amazing and knowledgeable chefs and always great service. I am moving away and will truly miss this place. Cara was always my favourite face to see there (all staff is so kind and friendly) but Cara is just such a joy to see and be served by. Steak tartar and oysters were our go to and never disappoints. Flame grilled steaks are also incredibly delicious as well as their cocktails. If you like a whiskey sour done right, you’ll get it here. All in all, you’re truly missing out if you don’t add the common stove to your places to try, not only in Orillia but in general ! I recommend them to everyone! 10/10.
