A coworker of mine, who knows the Savannah area well, highly recommended The Grey but warned me it was a popular spot where reservations could be tough to come by. Thankfully, I was traveling solo and managed to snag a seat at the bar—a win for spontaneous diners like myself. The restaurant boasts not one but two bar areas: one at the front, exuding lively energy, and another in the back, offering a more tranquil spot to unwind. The atmosphere alone is worth the visit, but the food and drink? Absolutely stellar. I decided to try the seafood boudin from their bar menu, which features a curated selection of smaller plates. To pair, I chose a Farina Lager from Atlanta’s own Halfway Crooks Brewery. The combination was impeccable—light, flavorful, and packed with local charm. For dessert, I couldn’t resist their pecan pie, which I savored alongside a perfectly brewed espresso. The night reached its peak when the bartender surprised me with an extra Good Rush cocktail on the house. That thoughtful touch elevated an already amazing evening. Every bite and sip was a testament to The Grey’s dedication to quality and creativity. It’s not just a restaurant—it’s an experience, and one I’m eager to repeat. By the way, life is simpler down south, and the prices truly reflect that. My bill didn’t leave me in shock at all—excellent value for such an extraordinary experience.

The Grey The Grey lived up to its promise; fine dining, excellent service, wonderful ambience, creative and delicious dishes. I have wanted to visit the Grey for so long, it was my bucket list item. We so very much enjoyed the entire experience and it was so great seeing chef Mashala Baily making rounds in the restaurant, I even got a picture with her. The entire staff signed a birthday card and treated me to a special dessert. It was a night to remember.

A group of about 10 of us had dinner here, upstairs in a private room with a window looking down on the restaurant floor. We had a mixture of Vegans, Gluten-free, and "regular" diners and The Grey handled all of our needs with ease. Attentive servers, and good explanations of the various dishes that were served to us for sharing. Recommended.

Top notch service, excellent food, friendly staff and a unique building with history. We watched a story on this restaurant a few years back on CBS morning show., we live in Minneapolis so we were so excited when we traveled to Savannah and finally were able to experience the Grey. With four of us we were able to explore most of the prefix menu. Everything single thing was DELICIOUS and filling. The “thriller” at the end of the meal is a complete and unexpected delight (after we visited we watched the Chefs table on head chef Mashama Bailey and learned the background making us love them even more). The service was incredible. Personal and attentive, friendly and fun. Bonus we had the honor of having Head chef Mashama Bailey stopped by our table to chat with us for a minute, I love her story and her personal touch to the food. The atmosphere is inviting and unique keeping elements from the Greyhound bus station that was there years ago. Note. Don’t let the prefix menu scare you away. They were more than willing to accommodate food sensitivities for one person in our party.
