The Hilltop Maritime Tavern

Food was delicious! Potato skins were cut in 8pieces and had just enough cheese and bacon. My husband had the lamb burger and truly enjoyed it. Highly recommend. The burgers don’t come with a side its an extra but worth it, fries were good. Decent portions too. Nice wooden bar inside but did not have any beers or drinks even if they had many choices that Im sure are worth a try. Nice booths as well to sit in, very large restaurant.

We drove 5 hours to get to Fredericton on our east coast road trip and after checking into our hotel we were ravishingly hungry for a hot meal. Found The Hilltop Maritime Tavern and ordered for pickup. Waiting the 7 mins drive back to our hotel with the scent of delicious food permeating the air, we couldn’t wait to eat. Then, absolutely stupefied by the deliciousness of our meal. It was simply delicious. Every bite. We ordered the cod and salmon, both of which came with roasted vegetables and garlic mashed potatoes. We swapped one of the mash for baked because of a garlic allergy. They provided sour cream and butter on the side (not pictured here). We finished our meal truly satisfied, and capped off with an incredibly moist and delicious carrot cake. This restaurant is not to be missed. Highly recommended!!

I so wanted to give this place a better review. The server was amazing, Steve I believe, like beyond amazing. They offer popcorn at table like some places do chips and salsa, my partner loved this. We had cup of broccoli soup for a starter and it was great. Then everything else came. The fish cakes we could smell as were brought to the table. Smelly fish isn't usually the best, one bite and my partner was done. The garlic bread with bree and apple butter, was ok, but I love all those things and would not order again, the apple butter was almost non existent and well, it just wasn't great, again edible though, just not impressive. The final thing ordered was the BBQ chicken nachos, substitution was made to remove pickles. They again were just meh. Nothing wrong. Just nothing great. Had blueberry beer that was cold fresh and tasty. I think with a few brews maybe the food is more impressive. Again nothing wrong, just very bland and unimpressive. We didn't complain as technically got exactly what we asked for, just not the best. I feel like wings and beers, I'd give it a go again. And the soup was great. Steve was the highlight and they should recognize him.
