Very nostalgic, hidden gem. The staff is all friendly which creates a welcoming atmosphere. This is a book lovers utopia. Most books are second hand.
The coolest bookstore ever! There’s a parking lot so it’s easy to stop by and hang out. I love the couch and reading area. The cats were sweet and friendly. The store has a good selection of classic literature with unique covers. The selection is always changing so it’s hard to reliably find the book you’re looking for, but you’re guaranteed to always find something great.
This is an awesome place to find used books at a very reasonable price. Most are in good to excellent condition and the staff will help you find what you are looking for. It has a very cozt, warm atmosphere and two very friendly mascot cats, Zeus and Apollo. This place only sells used books that have been out for a while, think at least a few years so they will not have any new releases. I found it amusing in a couple of visits to overhear customers arguing with the staff because they didn't have a new release and could not order them either.

Sweet cats, HUGE literature selection, and a great resource for history and philosophy based non-fiction. Very friendly and helpful staff. I wish it were more walkable to local restaurants, but totally worth the trip. This is hands down one of my favorite bookstores in Los Angeles.
A huge selection of books stacked on aisles that you could get completely lost within. Friendly staff and equally friendly cats (not for sale). If you love books, you will be in your element; if you don’t, prepare to fall in love with reading all over again.
Omg... This place is a book lovers paradise! I've always wanted to stop in here & I finally had time! If you love to read or just love nostalgia, you need this bookstore. They have EVERYTHING. Floor to ceiling shelves overflowing with books of all kinds on every subject you can think of. Old books. New books. Things that are WAY out of print.. like "The Joy of Crock Pot Cooking." Lol... It's just a lil slice of heaven. They even have a readers nook where you can come & quietly enjoy your book treasure in peace & comfort. It's seriously never ending... I just love it.
For many years, Illiad Bookshop has remained an oasis for book lovers in Los Angeles. The staff is both professional and friendly, with Iliad being a required stop for me. Though now living overseas, I always make sure there's room in my suitcases for the wonderful used book treasures Iliad always has.
