Just returned from a bite to eat this evening, nice looking establishment, menu looked lovely. Only 1 front of house staff member which made service slow (not her fault). Food looked lovely, but the bbq chicken was nearly inedible owing to how dry it was. Steak over cooked, Guinness not in a Guinness glass. I think I’ll return to try again but will stick to the steaks….i did feel sorry for the young couple who we walked past when leaving when I heard “I’ll have the bbq chicken”
I stayed here on a business trip. The owner was excellent and gave excellent service. The room was great, comfortable and clean. If you like a bath, well your in heaven, widest bath I've ever seen. Food, knock out. You get great value for your money and the bar is warm and welcoming. I would have loved to try the breakfast but alas I had to leave early. On my next trip around that area I'll be staying in the Kings Head. Keep up the good work M. Hope that 7 month old sprog doesn't keep you up all night. Look forward to seeing you soon
Stayed one night. Pub's lovely and cosy with very well kept beer. Staff extremely efficient and friendly. Food was top notch and highly recommended. Room, very clean clean and comfortable. Will definitely come again
The restaurant was lovely. The waitress was good & helpful. We had the Roast Beef. The standard of the meal was mixed. The beef was tender but over cooked. We arrived at the beginning of service so it should have been cooked better. Give customers a steak knife with roast beef, lamb etc. The roast potatoes were hardly roasted. Why restaurants don’t do what I do & plunge them into a deep fat fryer just prior to serving I don’t know. So easy. The parsnips were just okay, not great. The rest of the items were good. I liked the crispness of the cauliflower which was accompanied with lots of tasty cheese sauce. My main gripe would be, the food was luke warm when it arrived. No excuse. Only one other table had eating guests. The creamy, crunchy dessert which was served in a long glass was delicious as was the Lemon Posset.
