Customer experiences
We visited here on NYE 2025, one of the only few restaurants open late. Grateful that we were able to get a seat for food and drinks. Our server was very attentive.
Whoever was the primary server on Sunday, October 19th, from 8 PM to around 12 AM was so incredibly rude. I've never left a review before, but her attitude was atrocious, and she should seriously be reprimanded for behaving that way with customers. I'm currently visiting from another province, and I'm also a university student; I wanted to enjoy a baseball game at a pub and came across Glebe Central Pub. Due to my status as a travelling student, it can be expected that I don't have much expendable income. After spending nearly $80 on the meal, I barely had enough money for bus fare, let alone a tip. After paying, the server comes up to me and says, "Maybe you shouldn't eat out if you can't afford a tip." .... I'm not sure how businesses in Ottawa operate, but this type of attitude is atrocious and should not be considered acceptable. I hope this business will see this review and take swift action because 1 rude worker can negatively impact their business's reputation. Update: the server returned to the table to clarify that she lost $3 from her paycheque due to the bill. While I understand that servers often have to share their tips with the kitchen, and that it can be an inconvenience when that money is taken from the servers paycheques; however, servers should not take their frustrations out on the customer. Despite this behaviour being uncalled for and totally unnecessary, it is also bad for business. My apologies for not leaving a $3 tip, so that I could pay my $4 bus fare and get home. Next time I’ll make sure to spend the night at the restaurant, just so the server can make an extra $3. Absolutely ridiculous.
Great service, very cool vibe, and awesome wings! Came by on a Monday night ($0.75 wings) and it was busy, but still able to get a seat. Waitress took our order quickly, and it wasn’t long before we good our food and drinks. Wings are a perfect size, and the Cajun style was my favourite. Will be definitely coming back again!
Very friendly staff, great drinks, and a comfortable, welcoming atmosphere even when the bar was packed for the Blue Jays game. When we arrived, the staff at the door didn't realize a table had just come available when the whole place was full and actually chased after us outside to let us know there was a spot for us! :) Above and beyond service for our first time here, we will definitely be back
The Laff is a pub.
