Customer experiences
Only giving three starts because I had an unpleasant experience today. Usually the spicy tuna chunks are huge , so I ask the employees to cut it up before putting it into my bowl. They have never had an issue with this. They never would tell me no and happily did it for me. Today, I am assuming he was an owner (I’ve never seen him before though, he was an older gentleman with long grayish brown hair) impolitely told me they will not cut the tuna into chunks for me. I was okay with this because the chunks were smaller today already, however the way he approached the situation was rude. I just told him no problem, thanks for informing me because I was unaware, especially with my past experiences. Hopefully they keep the smaller chunks of spicy tuna instead of the huge cube size. If I see him there again, I will turn around and walk out so I don’t have to deal with bad customer service again. However, I’ve never had an issue with the food. My food has always been good.
Highly recommend!!! Ohana Poke has become my Favorite place to grab a FAST & HEALTHY meal. I usually get my food to go as I usually have several errands in trying to cram in while I'm Billings, but it has also become my favorite place for lunch dates with friends. The atmosphere is so laid back and the staff so friendly. Great music and very clean!
I love poke bowls, so imagine my excitement coming across this place! What a great brand and attention to detail in store really shows. Keep up the great work and tasty bowls!! Will definitely visit again anytime we are passing through. 😃👍
It was okay. My fiancé and I decided to drop in to Ohana Poke during our trip to Billings. After reading all the great reviews, we were excited to see what the hype was about. Truthfully, I'm still not quite sure. Let's start with food. I ordered a BYO small bowl with: + 1/2 white rice, 1/2 sushi rice + Edamame, Green Onions, Avocado & Krab Salad + 1/2 Hawaiian Poke, 1/2 Spicy Tuna Poke + Spicy Mayo + Pickled Ginger & Furikake The serving size was perfect. A small bowl was more than enough to satisfy my hunger after driving for a few hours. The mixins and toppings were good too. Fresh ingredients all around. My biggest bone to pick with the food itself was the poke. Now, I try not to be biased because I was born & raised in Hawai'i and there's no where in the world that can compare when it comes to poke. But what we had at Ohana Poke lacked good flavor. I'm not sure what's supposed to be in the Hawaiian Poke but it tasted like plain ahi cubes to me, there was nothing special about it. The Spicy Tuna Poke really threw me for a loop. Traditionally, spicy tuna poke is made with a spicy mayo. What we had here was just straight up spicy - and I love spicy food! My fiancé could barely finish his food because of the heat. Like I said, I love spicy. But the flavor I was looking for just wasn't there. I ended up asking for a side of spicy mayo to drench my poke in - that's where all the flavor I had came from. The overall vibe of the restaurant was cute and welcoming. It's definitely somewhere I would have lunch with a friend, if all else was ideal. The service was a little different. The young lady who helped us did not seem like she wanted to be there and she sure as heck didn't want to be serving us. I hate walking into a restaurant and feeling like I'm inconveniencing the staff by ordering. We did stroll in about 30-40 minutes to closing but I don't think that's an excuse. Would I recommend Ohana Poke to a friend? Maybe with caution. It's not in my list of "must-haves" on our next trip to Billings.
The Ohana Poke Company is a poke bar.
