We stayed at the Queen’s Inn for a couple of days last week to celebrate our anniversary and we were impressed on so many levels.||||The inn is undoubtedly the jewel in the crown of places to stay on Manitoulin Island. Yet, with its picturesque location, elegant furnishings and outstanding service, it also easily rivals some of the finest small luxury hotels we have stayed in around the world.||||The views of the bay from the balconies, where guests can lounge, as well as from many of the inn’s rooms (including the Diana room that we stayed in) are stunning. Our room had every convenience needed for a comfortable stay: high- end toiletries, fluffy, clean-smelling towels, good-quality robes, chairs for lounging. The attention to detail in the furnishings was impressive.||||We enjoyed the buffet breakfasts; there was ample variety, everything was either homemade or very fresh, coffee was plentiful and there were many types of teas to choose from. ||||One night we ate at a restaurant across the bay from the inn. However, our anniversary meal, luckily, coincided with the Queen’s Inn’s tapas-night weekend dinners on the veranda. The servers were very friendly and attentive and made sure we had a lovely evening. Everything we ate was absolutely delicious and was prepared by the kitchen to the highest standards. ||||Tip: Try the wine pairing suggestions, and don’t pass on the desserts, especially if the crème brule or the freshly made pie are on the menu. ||||It is clear that the Queen’s Inn is a labour of love for the owner, Sandra, who works hard to make sure everything at the inn is just right. She, her husband and her staff have created a first-class experience for guests – and we are hoping to have the opportunity to return someday.

I just returned from my third stay at the incomparable Queen's Inn in lovely Gore Bay. Proprietor and innkeeper Sandra and spouse Mark have created an experience unlike any other inn or B&B we have ever stayed at. The beautifully appointed guest rooms and common spaces reflect Sandra's extensive world travels and exceptional taste. Every detail is exquisite. A billiards table has been recently installed in the newly converted games room, perfect for a cool evening or rainy day. The second floor balcony with its panoramic view of the Gore Bay Marina is equipped with elegant lounging furnishings which make it the perfect spot for a lazy morning - or afternoon, or evening! The spacious front porch is transformed several nights during the high season into an inviting and relaxing outdoor tapas bar, with a menu lovingly prepared by Sandra's family. Sandra and Mark are gracious and welcoming hosts, making their guests feel they are at home as opposed to at an accommodation. The only downside to staying at this incredible property is the realization that you will eventually have to leave it. Thank you Sandra and Mark for another wonderful stay!

Stayed at the Inn, the 3rd week of July, for 5 nights. We had the Elizabeth room. It was very comfortable. The inn is beautifully decorated with items from around the globe. Our hosts were amazing! Scrumptious continental breakfast! After a day of hiking, we played games on the front porch, relaxed and, took in the amazing view of the harbour.

We loved staying at the Queen’s Inn. Lovely rooms, beautiful location, and awesome host. The only disappointment was having to leave earlier than expected due to a family emergency. Sandra was understanding and gracious. We can’t wait to come back for a longer stay to properly explore the area.

The Queen's Inn is a inn.
