I find myself wondering if I went to the same pub as the one in the glowing reviews, in general the food was OK apart from the children's food; extremely low quality sausage that was so hard and dry that it was inedible, which was replaced on request by the same sausages that had been quickly fried and incredibly pale. Macaroni cheese that was not Macaroni and didn't taste of cheese, hot stringy cheese with linguine. I had a burger that was dry but well seasoned and had a nice grilled flavour but not great for the price. Overall dissapointing

have always come to the rose and crown. It's a wonderful place and great for any occasion. I was saddened today when I was sat next to a very rude table today. They were in for a festive booking and the food looked incredible, unfortunately the table were incredibly rude to staff and complained about everything under the sun. From my opinion there was nothing wrong at all and they just had a bee in their bonnet. I am extremely upset that these people feel it's okay to be that disgusting to staff members. Other than the very rude table the evening was amazing. A fantastic folk night and as always amazing food.

When we arrived our table wasn’t ready due to the previous booking refusing to leave, the staff could not have been more apologetic and accommodating. The chef gave us free deserts and a massive plate of Yorkshire puddings for the table, I felt so bad for the staff due to such a terrible experience they were having it off set all their bookings making for a very busy lunch time. The roast was absolutely gorgeous and it’s by far our favorite place to come on a Sunday. All the staff deserved a big tip! Shame on the table that gave all the staff such a hard time. ~K
