Hello! Wanted to share an encounter with one of your people - Esther! She called me regarding a business development role (830-530pm, need to travel overseas 3-4x a year $50/day overseas allowance) which was offering about $3-3.5K basic salary. And a potential employee would be getting that amount + 3.5months bonus (per year) according to the memo the company sent her. She was very detailed, with her explanation which was great! But I started to ask her what was the incentive for joining if someone was to be paid $3-3.5K/month (830-530pm 5x a week) as I had other jobs offering a way higher amount. I genuinely wanted to know what was the recruiting company’s positioning. And I was quite shocked at what happened next. She asked me what was my minimum expected salary and I said $4K as an amount that I thought of on the spot. And she asked ‘What makes you think you’re worth $4K? No offence’ and she laughed.. 😅 I never met a recruiter like that before that questioned and belittled a potential ‘client’ 😅 She is detailed and speaks well no doubt but I am in utter shock that as a recruiter you’re asking someone you’re ‘supposedly trying to help find a job’ what makes them think they are worth a certain price tag. Is she insinuating that I’m not? 😅 Is she the one hiring? I didn’t know she had the right to ask a stranger over the phone such a question? 😅 Hope Good Job Creations could provide any logical explanation for her comment. That would be great. Thank you!

Through this, I have also gained a better understanding of how to approach career opportunities with the right mindset.
