This past weekend The Torchbearer Taproom hosted my daughters 1st birthday party, and it was a hit! Communication (specifically with Kyla) was very easy. She worked with me to answer all my questions and help me along the way when planning. Staff was super attentive for our large group of about 40 adults and some kids. They were even able to accommodate a small play area I had rented for the kids as well as had space for my backdrop. We preselected what foods we wanted served for the event, everything came out hot and in a timely fashion (and tasted great). The best part about having a 1st birthday at a taproom was the fact that their drink selection is awesome, and it was such a fun way for the adults to hangout and socialize. I would recommend anyone who wanted to host an event to consider the Torchbearer Taproom

We tried Torchbearer Tap Room last week. It’s a bit on the pricey side, and it’s not your typical brewery. The place hosts lots of events, and during our visit it happened to be karaoke night. The vibe is really casual and the staff are friendly. They have tons of games and even private rooms you can reserve for small parties. Their beers rotate often, and the ones we tried were good. They don’t have a full kitchen, so the food on the menu is brought in from other restaurants in the same plaza. Overall, the atmosphere is great. We’ll definitely be going back!

Durham's BEST NEW HANGOUT: My friends and I were incredibly impressed with the Karaoke room at the Torchbearer. The room itself was clean, with a large screen, 2 mics (with stand), a couch and some tables. It comfortably fit the 7 of us, but could definitely put as many as 10. Songs are selected through a tablet under the screen. The interface is very user friendly and the song selection is pretty formidable. The room has a switch that contacts the wait staff, which was a very nice touch! I was worried about the sound of the main room leaking into our room, but the soundproofing meant we could only hear the other rooms when we opened our door. The drinks were awesome; a huge selection of beers with some inventive mixology drinks like a pistachio espresso martini. They have weekly Trivia, live music and a menu that offers twists on familiar favourites. A place that offers a lot of fun amenities without the drive to Toronto!

An amazing place to relax with a pint, or battle the masses in Wednesday trivia. We are regulars and have even enjoyed the private karaoke rooms (no one needs to hear me sing). Basically, if you like craft beer, laidback atmosphere and fun activities, you should absolutely check them out.
